This was my joint back in the time, but this sounds waaaaay different than what I remember. This must be the original. I just bought this tape (Gregory D and DJ Mannie Fresh) in Georgia without ever hearing of these guys and I loved it.
Yea I remember this on Q93 all the time! It's not bounce, because it doesn't have that "triggerman" beat, but there is a lot of similar features. I like the call and response. Man, this takes me BACK!
Never a big fan of Gregory D., but I was even less of a fan of bounce. I can admit Gregory D. was talented, but can't say the same for most bounce artist. - Gregory D. was N.O. first successful hip-hop artist. - Also, he offers too many lyrics to be considered bounce. I used to hate bounce - glad it's gone, finally.
@onn1320 Bounce aint gone Big Freeda was on carson daily show last year. And big freeda rap bounce. Youca youca youca youca you you youca youca. AhHHHHhh LMMFAO. I hate bounce to, but it aint dead. You must not be in the city. Actually its just ponks now a days that run that bounce shit.
I'm in the city - just don't listen to the radio like I used to. - Overall - Outside of Mystical, some of Juvenile, and Kilo G I never cared for hip-hop artist from N.O. - I mean I respect Wayne for how far he's come and P for being on top for a while (I still can't understand how he did it) - But honestly - Master P's "Ice Cream Man" vs. Raekwon's "Ice Cream" - The Chef wins lyrically, and with the beats hands down. But he'll never reach the status of P - I give up.
oh yea it was a fighting song, damnnnnnnnnnnnnnn was it ever, i am makin 37 in dec i feel old as fuck- this was 1 of my favs back then 2, i live in h-town, i play only our music- i let em know where i'm from, lokee, fila phil, mr. magic, bustdown, mystikal, juve, b.g, tre 8, da man magnolia/soulja slim, wish i had g-slimm i mean i am so hood, so lower 9, n.o. is me no matter where i live. this will always be a classic- warren mayes- get it girl & all jubilee's and bootin up from da shara.
gmbmzblue14 don't get it wrong we bring the fire just like every hood I have ever been in. I have walked through da calliope and made it out...lived off piety and was always in Desire and handled mine, had a girl in St. Benard's.. so projects are projects and hoods are hoods. AS FOR GREGORY D THAT IS MY NIGGA FROM FRENCHMAN'S WHARF WHEN WE LIVED OUT EAST!
They are hoods everywhere - no hood is harder than the next one. - Besides what is that to Brag about? That's like saying my hood has more ignorant fools, promoting more black on black crime than yours. -
Waaaahhhhh neaaaaaaa....... OHHHHH NOOOOO huhhhhhhh bruhhhhh..... this here got it all buckin and jumpin.... ya heardddd meeee...... I still love my st mary sexi salt shakers... yes indeed!
