Bah bah
Well,it doesn`t matter how good one can be ,here it is important to be young and good as the best before ,that`s why this is the best for the moment ;)
@stravinskij91: thank you for your correction ("tacete" and not "tacevi").
But what I was telling piaceznik is I don't know the reason why some words are different from one to another version of the libretto. It's very common, but I can't tell whether it's due to variations between the manuscript of the original score and the libretto, made by Rossini himself (which happens a lot), or if, in later times, the publishers of printed editions would modify it for some reason.
There are two famous operas in which the Conte d'Almaviva plays a main role. 'Il nozze di Figaro', by Mozart, in which he is a baritone, and this one, where he's 20 years younger and a tenor.
He says "tacevi" (from "tacere", verb), which means "be silent", "hush", and so on.
I really can't explain you why, but it's not uncommon to find some slight variations in the texts in opera. Different publishers, perhaps? Maybe Rossini's or Sterbini's handwritings were hard to read, LOL.
Or maybe it's a slight correction based on the original circumstances depicted in Beaumarchais' novel (in which the opera is based) that somebody in the production process found relevant.
Tell what you want, I think he's got a fuc*ing great voice...
Awesome!

@Nunkynick I thought that too XD He's saying "vieni, bell'idol mio", though, which is something of a relief ;)

I love all of his ornamentation choices, really just superb. Of course the singing is magnificent as well, but that goes without saying really.

What's he saying in 2:43 , and why? Taceti, già veggo...? Why not 'Oh sorte, già veggo', as written?

Yes, is a mistaken.........is strange because is a peruvian (latina language).
But I know Juan Diego Florez as Tenor instead here He is Conte d'almaviva that is Baritono. Why??
Piolo1978 2 years ago
