I live in Canada. In the eighties I was in Hawaii and my wife and rented motor scooters and went tooling around. I just had to go in and try it. I got into the water about what seemeed like around my knees and a wave somewhat larger than my 6ft height came up and hit me like a brick wall. Tumbled me over backwards a few times. I think some of that sand even came back to Canada with me.

Yes I have videos of the wedge it's great there! But don't judge Sandys by this video.. this is a very 'small' or normal day at Sandys. When there's a nice south swell, Sandys is mean! We also have Waimea, Pipe, Point Panics and Off-The-Walls. All of which are great too. I hope to have another video of our North Shore up soon

Because even though the waves are not that big, the water is VERY shallow. And if you land wrong, it DOES hurt. I landed on my knee over a month ago and it still hurts like hell when I walk. Big Waves + Shallow Water = Dangerous Break.

Anyhow, This weekend I'll be filming at Pipe, the waves are expected to be over 8ft local scale (for your mainland people that's 15+ foot faces). Video should be up in a few days.
