@QuantumQuacks First of all, I love Japan. But I don't think you can say any Matsuri is better than fallas. Fallas also have people, party, dancing (every falla -and there are at least 300 just in the capital- has its own parties every night, where everyone is invited), play music (almost each falla hires a music band to play along the streets of their quarter 2 or 3 times a day), and everyone is high on beer, vodka, whiskey.. Plus people lighting fireworks, social meals in the streets...

They had forced all those women, and they forced each other among themselves, to stand in dresses and look at the fireworks. Unhappy faces and a complaining teenager. What's up with that?

@teemuruskeepaa - ok i was there, the women are not forced to wear these dresses, the fallas club from an area elects a certain woman to make an offering of flowers to the virgin patriarc. It is tradition. You would have to have been there to understand it all. The moaning teenager is probably because all this happened at 1am and started at 8am that morning, and thousands of people were pushing for a better look. Just saying, its spanish tradition.

@teemuruskeepaa Well yeah, i think it must have some deeper meaning the burning of it i mean... but who knows. But like a said, it was 1am spanish time, we were all so tired. Its been around for forever, all the spanish people get really pumped for it :)

"La cremà" it´s an especial day of the fallas, ints the end of the party, and the "falleras" that you see usually cry of emotion because they are the "queens" of the fallas and they never could repeat that incredible experience.
