  • does it hurt even a bit?

  • O Melhor Tutorial de todooos!!!!! THE BEST!!!! MUITO OBRIGADO!!!

  • omg I remember when I first wanted to do a roll and ignored the "advanced" part of this video but now it's been a few months, I got the roll down, so I think I can handle this ^o^

  • 2:36 lol!

  • God this would have been nice 2 broken collar bones ago, by the way how many broken bones have you guys broken while freerunning?

  • 1:42 Ahh I forgot My parachute!!!!!!!

  • T BAG!! xD nice tutorial btw =)

  • This is one of the best roll tutorial on youtube!!!!

  • 0:42 look its david belles playground, where is it??

  • @rad0ri this place is in France, Lisses :)

  • on the impact part, what is the difference between the second roll compared to the first one? the camera angle change so it kind of made it too hard to see the difference.

  • very nice video...thanks

  • pls someone help i think got everything down to T besides for step 4 reverse blocking and recoil, by recoil do you push off the ground as soon as u make conyact or what and by blocking ???????????

  • Very nice!!! And at last: You have to look for the cars, before you went to the street:)

  • Idk wat to do the left arm roll is kinda more to my likein but when i do a right arm roll i make my left leg come put instead of my rite

  • this solved a lot of questions i had, thank you so so so much :)

  • /watch?v=MVqS_2QEZvs

    another way to Roll

  • Great tips thanks

  • LEVI IM ROOTING YOU ON AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR!!! :D :D EPIC

  • im watching this cuz i jumped off a school roof and fucked up my back like an idiot XD

  • awesome tutorial Levi.... you're the freakin man

  • THANK YOU!

  • nieeeeeeeeee

  • i really wanna know who they guy is that was doing the double front and double back...

but this is a great tutorial thanks levi! i subbed

  • Wow, thanks Levi! This video was really helpful and informative. Good luck on American Ninja Warrior!

  • very nice video

  • nice tutorial!

  • Man, you make it look so easy... I tried my first parkour roll yesterday, running at full speed, and got the wind knocked out of me... This shit is so much harder than it looks!

  • this is the best tutorial of anything ive ever seen. how can you not improve from watching this?

  • thanks, i almost got it, now i have to practice end of roll

  • I keep trying the roll, I always do it on carpet, and its fine most of the time, but I'm still a little too afraid of pain to try it on concrete. Idk what I need to do to fix it, but its not the smoothest, I use 3 different techniques, the triangle one, the curved arm, and the one he has in this video, but I still cant manage to get it right.

  • Levi!!!! does the roll hurt on concrete? cause im super skinny and my bones stick out so it hurts when i roll but is it suppose to hurt like do you just get used to the pain?

  • @yoscott1 The roll should never hurt. You need to practice your technique and find the right angle so that it doesn't hurt anymore.

  • 0:42 isn't that guy on right Jan Hanko ??

  • the best advice is: BE TENSE, if you tense your back your back muscels will cushion much, much more. try this out, and spread this tip, coz almost no one does.

  • omg such a great vid love it

  • Id say that after you watch the Roll Tutorial from urbancurrent, you should definitely watch this one! Such a GREAT TUTORIAL! Congratulations, its SOO well-made dude =]

  • @pedrao15

Haha that's exactly what I did!

Yeah guys, After watching the user "urbancurrent" normal roll tutorial, and then working out the flaws in your roll with their advanced roll tutorial, this video teaches you how to make it all useful.

  • This is the next best thing to training alongside him.

  • have you trained with sebastien before levi?

  • 1:30

    HOLY CRAP

    LOOK AT HIS SACK

GIRLS MUST BE AFRAID OF HIM

AND HOWS HE GET HIS PANTS ON WTF!!!!

    kidding

    isnt this fake?

  • @1xXD4N13LXx1 No, this is in fact how you roll in Parkour.

    Yes, people actually do Parkour.

Yes, he likely actually did this, on concrete, as he is confident he will not hurt himself too badly if he fails.

Unless you meant something ELSE was fake.

  • @1xXD4N13LXx1 One of the pictures I have seen most often on the internet, of course it's fake, why are you freaking out over an obvious photoshop?

  • nice tutorial, clean rolls

    thanks!

  • Great job on the video.I just started in parkour/freerunning but I don't live in the city. Do you have any recommendations for practicing or finding people who do it too, because it gets boring when you do it by yourself.

  • @Limabeast me too my shoulder had a gigantic bruise and now it has concentrated into an small but extremely pain spot

  • This tutorial had my attention the whole time, you did a really well job with this tutorial

  • I'm 13 and I'm just kinda getting into parkour so I decided to learn the roll 1st...I can do it ok now but sometimes I hit the top of my shoulder on the ground which has left a huge bruise...any tips to avoid this?

  • @Limabeast your landind on your shoulder bone you should land a lil bit more behind it. meaning go a bit more into the roll than landing on top of your shoulder bruising will be normal it just wont hurt. hope this helps.

  • Levi, huge fan and because of u im getting into parkour.Got any tips for a rookie???

  • I actually feel that this roll is much easier than the normal? Is it weird?

  • Where'd you buy the sweat pants?

  • How long did it take you to learn the roll?

  • @MortalShowdown he most likely got it from americanparkour

  • yet agen, this video has inspired me to start training parkour agen

  • Sorry, but I don't really get why this roll is better than the usual.

    Can you please explain?

  • Dear Levi, thanks for taking a structured and well founded approach to a more difficult part of parkour than most wuld give it credi for and crunching it into just five minutes of intense video. This really helps. Good job! Tom

  • hey any tips on when you do the scooping roll. like i keep on hitting my hand with my shoulder...

  • thumb up if this video very helpfull and you succeded doing the roll.

    Cause i did! :)

  • thats good i always wondered why i hurt everytime i did it

  • No, the way to prevent this is to point your toes up rather than to just let your foot go limp. works for me and all my friends, hope that helps you to.

  • When you come up out of the recoil roll, does your ankle on your right foot touch the ground? Mine always smashes into the ground as I come up.

  • Sorry if this seems like kind of a dumb question, but even with these new techniques and everything rolling on really hard rough ground still hurts. is there a way to avoid this, or condition my back to make it hurt less? or is it something i just have to deal with like I've been doing?

  • @drake31203 dude just learn doing it from shoulder to hip and i will not hurt if it still does than relearn it

  • Also, your rolls are incredible, it looks like you transfer so much of your downward momentum into forward that it throws you forward when you complete the roll!

  • This is the best tutorial I've seen yet. I've been able to dive roll for ages, but when I take drops people say it looks like I'm absorbing too much with my legs, most likely collapsing rather than springing. So it's time to work on the springing I think!

  • thanks for the great tutorial, my friend really needs this

  • You and Adam McC have helped me with my roll. Thank you very much!

  • You've explained it more then anyone else. I just wish you could teach me personally. I a bit tall so it's hard. I have a long neck also so it's awkward

  • this is good but wat if i dont have enogh room for a roll but a ground slap isnt effective enough

  • @yourlonly then don't do it lol

  • this is the best tutorial ive seen, how long do u think it takes to master this?

  • @itskelvinn It shouldn't take too long to learn it, but to properly master it takes a lot of practice. I'd say about a couple months really.

  • Dang thanks for this video. It really help show what i was doing wrong, and here i thought i had just cause i actually rolled. Im suddenly also craveing power thirst.

  • love the video really helpful better than the way i explained it

  • thorough and informative, thanks.

  • 1:43 fake and gay

  • @iDeaTHeoRyi i really hope you are just trying to be obvious >.>

  • I didn't know that leaps were better than drops.. as soon as my foot heels up I'll do some experimentation :3

  • its the best

  • must the head touch the ground ??

  • really nice tutorial levi! But do you know how you can learn this roll without making an ass out of yourself? I mean, I want to make really big roofjumps. And yes I know, you shouldn't start with such great height, but build It up. So now I can do the roll from really low on pavement. (after 1000 repeats a day O_O) but still I can't just start jumping of roofs ofcourse. So I have to increase the jumpheight a bit. But you look really stupid when you jump of a bench or something and roll!

  • @bboyfreefighter well from what I've done is either run with a group of people and train in one area, like an empty park, and that way you don't look like one lone nutball. Or go for a jog and if you see a good dive spot go for it... Always experiment, be safe.

  • @MrModernNinja thx man

  • the best tutorial i have ever seen

  • thanks i finnaly mastered my parkour roll

  • Need to know a camera model... it's like 150 fps ! Very cool! I have HVX but it's only 60 fps... :(

  • what camera did you use in this video?

  • Need to know a camera model... it's like 150 fps ! Very cool! I have HVX but it's only 60 fps... :(

  • damn i dident know that i was this good :D , everytime someone come up to me and ask me how to roll i allways say when u land from a drop bend slightly forward then almost "jump" into the roll , and now i see that i do it correct. That makes me happy :D well u can allways improve in whatever u do so thx Levi great TUT peace!.

  • wow u met sebastian foucan thats awesome

  • Wow thanks bunches. My roll was okay but I had no idea how much technique in it I really had to go. This helps so much, thank you

  • I became your BIG FAN after I saw you on Ninja Warrior......This video is really cool!!!

  • Just came across this very impressed by the break down one of the best roll tutorials I have seen.

  • Nice video levi!! I love the powerthirst reference :P

  • now i can make this!

  • When god hands you lemon, you find a new god!

  • Powerthirst lol

  • Wow! I'm a big fan Levi!

  • want some more good parkour videos? Search "Parkour Temecula"

  • excellent tute... people just need to be aware that with the first technique in the hand placement (where only one is placed on the ground and the other is tucked under) it is much easier to "flop" onto your back or into your shoulder which can cause serious damage if done under a large impact

  • 5stars for good explanation :)

  • I saw this videoa loong time ago : thanks for putting it back up all though it is on my Zune now :D haha

  • Nice job Levi, really great in-depth look at the roll.

Also, I was wondering what camera you used to film this. I remember at PKNY last year yo had a camera with some great slow motion playback, is this the same one? I'm looking to get a high fps camera to shoot with and am just curious.

Thanks, hope to train with you soon bro

  • When I roll on hard surfaces I do it from shoulder to hip and yet still get pains down at my hip, how can I stop this.

  • better then any tutorial on rolls that i have watched this is awsome!!

THANKS LEVI from your TC friends !!

  • Thank you very much Levi-sensei!!!!

This is very good! i can't wait to get practicing.

    You should do more.

  • Nice tutorial!

  • dude, you've explained this so clearly. better than any tutorial I've ever watched, thanks =]

  • I've seen this, but I wasn't able to watch it with sound then; now it all makes sense. Concrete rolls, here I come!

  • best parkour tutorial i seen. thank u Levi!

  • Whoa! Thank you so much. I'm definitely going to work on my roll.

  • Really helpful and detailed tutorial. Thanks a lot!

    -Naïm-

  • wow, i already do this without even looking at this video

  • Thx

  • I only got to know your name when I was watching Sasuke (Nagano-san is my all time favourite), you were good, keep it up, I hope you make it to "GanZenSeiHan" in one day. ^___^

  • Awesome tutorial!!! Thank you!!

  • I didn't think this would help me at all seeing as how I have been doing parkour and free running for quite a while now, but it's a lot more useful than I thought it would be.

  • Such a basic move, but so technical... It never occurred to me about blocking in a roll. I'm gonna have to try that now

  • This is really good.

  • this is a great tutorial man !!!!

  • I love the humor you added onto your video with those random pictures XD

    Amazing as always, Levi :)

  • Levi trains parkour because he's TOO ENERGETIC FOR NORMAL SPORTS!!! o_Ô

  • Yeah, I made it a long time ago, but I wanted to post it on my own YouTube channel. :)

  • @LeviMeeuwenberg Dude you need to really make alot more of these! Theyre perfect!!!

  • hey, ive seen this before but amazing nevertheless.

  • How come i've already seen this?

Anyways, I really try to understand rolling, as it is one of the most important things in parkour. This guide brings out some new facts that are really useful. Thanks!

  • oh, it was first on AmericanParkour's youtube channel

  • Yes, now I remember. :)

  • great tutorial Levi!^^
