  • In his first autobiography (in Spanish) Jose Carreras mentions that he was asked during an interview his choice of tenors to succede the Big 3. He endorsed :Dvorsky ,Lima and Shicof.

  • Too much love for horses!!

Few have told the story with so much class, en vocal line. And gess what, he had high notes!!

I hope he is happy in his wonderful ranch of Cordoba!

    What we miss him, dammit!!

  • exelente luis,arriba alta gracia!!just perfect!

  • FABULOUS SINGING from BOTH of them. Thank you and please MORE of these!

  • Maravilloso oir a Lima. Por favor, queremos más videos de él.

  • could you please post some more of this film since I don´t have at home and I would love to see at least some more of it.

  • it is available on DVD released 2005 - recorded in 1985 the last but one outing of the legendary Visconti production of 1958. Although it is looking a bit "dated" and must looked as much in 1985. Astonishing to think this opera was all but forgotten until the 1950s. Lima is far better suited to the role than Villaron (I can't think why he is singing it.)

  • Luis Lima retired, but sometimes he sings in Argentina, he still sings wonderfully, I can tell you so cause I´m his daughter. And I guess you can tell I´m very proud of him!

  • You can be proud on him rightfully!!! He´s really icredible. What a pity that he was not more well-known. Wonderful color of voice, very good technique and very, very nice singing!

Give my kind regards to your father :)

    jana

  • Thank you very much for your comments, I will tell him, because I think he will like to know that he is well remembered.

  • You have to be proud. Your father is a great singer with a big and beautiful voice. I only have on cd his Los Bohemios and it's something!

  • Y vos que te metes bolis!!!! Ni que no fuera tambien tu papa. De algo hay que agrandarse no?

  • Camila if you are in fact his daughter please use your influence and tell him to come back!!!!! Leave the horses and get back on the stage!!!! Never mind about he age!! Lots of people miss him around the world! And by the way say hello to your auntie Vivi in Alta Gacia from Pietro and Ana en San Fernando

  • You are not the first person to say that, many people tell they miss him on the stage!!! He sings every now and then in Argentina and now in june he sings in Vienna at a Gala for the director who is leaving. So I hope to see him there!!!. And when I talk to Vivi I will tell her.

  • Thank you! I just realized that you are living in Spain Good chance for a reunion in Vienna!! Get some recording and post it here if possible Regards from Pietro

  • I had the pleasure to perform with Luis in San Francisco in a production of La Boheme in 2000. He was a terrific colleague who sang with beauty and power. His dramatic ability was skillful and completely natural. I'm happy to hear he still occasionally shares his gifts. My regard and best wishes to your father.

  • Brava! I am a huge fan of your fathers. He was, for me, the most charismatic actor and singer of his roles in NY. I was torn up by his passion as Rodolfo. When I was still singing opera ( I sang shortly at the MET) and I was asked who was my tenor idol I always said your father.

  • @camilalima81 Hello camilalima81.You are so right to be proud of your father, I would too. Beside the sound of his voice, he brought to the stage his charm, his elegance, and wath about his legato, his phrasing. He is a singing actor par excellence.Voice alone is nothing.I am very proud to say that Luis Lima is my favoured Tenor......I LOVE HIM.........

  • @camilalima81 cante con tu viejo y fue una de las experiencias mas lindas que me pasaron. Un saludo Luis!

  • @camilalima81 Please give him our love from Budapest =My daughter also loves him, although she is 16!), and wish him a happy birthday!

  • Can someone tell me what happened to Luis Lima?

  • He has now retired and living in or near Alta Gracia in Cordoba , an Argentinian province Hes breeding racing (o otherwise) horses Wish he was back!! Would leave many out of work!!!!

  • The first act: it's indispensable! This edition in video is the best. It has changed my life...
