this is why i am deathly afraid of pitbulls. most people believe that a dog is trained to be violent by the carelessness of their owners. but i believe it is in the blood of a pitbull to be unusually violent. thats why i dont trust them, i think they are very violent dogs, one of the most violent dog breeds out there. i don't believe the breed should b eliminated, but if a family is going to take this breed in, there needs to b extra caution with this decision, especially if children r involved

@RobinTheBoyWonder88; no they are still domesticated dogs. dogs are completely different from wolves it would probably take 100,000 years for them, if they could, to revert back to the wolf. 100,000 yrs before present is when C.Vila dated the mitochondrial haplotype sequence divergence of dogs from the wolf

Many in the pit bull community ignore human life. They are all about pit bulls and never discuss genetics. The Humane Society of the U.S. has been tracking maulings and deaths by this dog for twenty-two years. Golden Retrievers also have irresponsible owners as do all breeds. Do we have to worry about death by Golden Retriever? It's genetics and understanding the signs of a pit which can be very slight. Few are up to owning this dog. Wherever Colleen Lynn is I thank her for this tribute.

This is sad for all of us. As a society, we have the discretion, authority and duty to minimize risk and protect children. Unfortunately, this family lacked the discretion to choose a breed other than one known to injure and kill children with frequency. It's unconscionable that society still permits pit bulls.
