hey, after trying to make a pvc fujara from the youtube instructions, i could not get it to sound very good or make all the sounds....so, i am impressed with your bamboo one coming out so good....do you have instructions on how to make one, mahalo forest
What kind of bamboo did you use, and how did you create the seal between the two culms? Thanks for the show, I'd like to build one myself as I have a 22 year old grove of bamboo.
Good job, the bamboo sounds great, and i think it's a good option if you can get the right dimensions. For anyone interested in making elderwood fujaras, it's not that difficult, you just need long augers and the patience to let the wood dry properly.
Very nice, ultimate sound. I think I'll try to construct one too. Thanks for inspiration! :)

I sort of like placing finger holes instinctively, rather than relying on precise measurement. Thanks for the feedback--actually quite helpful.
jonjb2a 2 years ago
Where do you place the finger holes? Also how far apart and how large to make them, in terms of diameter? Thanks.
jonjb2a 2 years ago
unfortunately I can not help you because I have chosen the measure instinctively ...
And it went well.
But the measure depends on the length.
The diameter is 12 mm

The name of the bamboo is madake
If you send me your e-mail, I send you photos of the various elements of my fujara
febi51 3 years ago
does it have a reed? or are you playing the mouthpiece like a trumpet?
washtubbass 3 years ago
The fujara is a long flute.
The sound is produced at the top of cane. For this reason, the reed smallest acts as a "reference".
Otherwise I could not close the holes, which are low.
ciao
