Wow..I had a shi tzu named gizmo too..hah how weird..But thanks for posting these videos..we just had ours put down about 3 months ago. Reminded me of him a ton..Spend as much time with him as you possibly can..I miss mine every day.

Mine doesn't hate her kennel, but she definitely prefers her doggy bed. Of course, that doesn't stop her from shooting into the kennel as soon as she sees me with a brush in my hand. ^^

That's why you have to teach them to like it, no dog will automatically hate something, if you use it as any sort of punishment, than of course he will hate it, but if not, than just bribe him with treats and all of his favorite things, I'm sure he'll warm up to it. :)
