Well done Caroline, fabulous dish. I was going to treat mum to Penang curry tonight, but you have just sold this one.. After we spent 3years in KL i thought i would treat my mum to some flavour's that she may have forgot! Question: Do you know the traditional recipe / marinade for Satay beef and chicken. None of the commercial sold products here in UK that i have tried taste close to what we used to be served in Malaka and Port Dickson as a child? Regards Matt x

after reading the comments, it's sad that there's some misunderstanding between you and some of our local friends... We're from a very minority group, most of the states didn't know that we exist in Malaysia, that is why they know nothing about our cuisine, so be proud that you had actually learnt something new which ppl still don't even know~

Although we don't usually use sugar for this dish (because most of us are diabetic), but still, you did a GREAT job~ =D thanks for promoting~ ^_^

@FlamedFireUnicorn Hiya, hanks so much for your comment, really appreciate it :) yes the original recipe was inspired from a "devil curry" like you said :) There are some many different types of curry all over Malaysia, and I am in London promoting Malaysian food to the western world, because it's so varied it's hard to pin point but people need to get a general idea, hence the titles. Emmm..... Malaysian Curry Chicken and Eurasian Curry are totally different... I'm a Portuguese-Eurasian from Malacca Portuguese Settlement, Malaysia, and from the look of your dish and the ingredients you used, this looked like our traditional dish called Curry Dabel (Most Malaysian called in Curry Devil)...

leave the girl alone, her curries are superb and most of the people cooking them will not be Malaysian but will be European as we dont have a good knowledge of Malay cooking here ,for years its been mainly Cantonese, Hong Kong or Mandarin styles and thankfully for Immigration we now have a whole raft of styles to choose from, but Caroline is one of my personal favourites, cos she makes everything simple and easy to understand

@imaiqah Also, please tell your other hater blogger friends, that I will change the name to a Eurasian curry and that I can see how people not in the know might think this is a traditional curry, although I never said it was a traditional Malaysian curry it has upset some people. I will make my video's much clearer to help educate people in the future :) And actually, I'm glad you mentioned all this and I am more than happy to help teach people about all the different types of favorite cuisine

but your version of malaysian curry looks nice. maybe i should to try some time:)

@aidira84 Hello, Like I said in the video this is a slightly different more Eurasian style of Malaysian Curry. Really delicious and yes give it a go sometime! There are so many types of curry in Malaysia due to the fusion of so many cultures, I think more needs to be done to educate people about the diversity of wonderful Malaysian food.

Malaysian cuisine is made up from so many different influences and flavours - This is a Eurasian Malaysian curry wit influences from India and Malaysia - There isn't just one type of curry in Malaysia and coming from a Malaysian I'd of thought you'd of known that??

Super thanks for this recipe. There is a restaurant near my place that sells Malaysian Style Curry with Roti/Pharatha. Super delicious and super spicy too.

I will give it a try when I have some free time. I would assume you can use other meats such as beef or shrimp too.
