the tuning machines of this guitar is made in china and that is why no matter how you tune it, it would still go out of tune! its a piece of crap. get yourselves a Schaller or a Grover!

There's no comparing the two. If you want a real tip though, don't buy ANY effect with someone's name on it.
Just get the pedals they actually used, or the same types; such as tubescreamers to get a SRV style tone, or Trey tone, etc. A RAT with a british style amp for Gilmour, whatever the hell Zakk Wykde used.
Any pedal with someone's name on it, and 95% of the time any guitar/instrument, isn't/wasn't used by that person. They just put their name on it to make money.
I own the Zakk OD. I use it as a boost over an already dirty channel, works great for that. As for the 808, I wanna get one for just an OD pedal. Zakk's drive a bit flabby by itself.
I wonder what the pedal sounds like in the noon setting? Also, depending on where this guy is geographically located, my time zone could be different placing the knobs +/- a few hours, thus again affecting the tone.

Don't spend 500 bucks+ on a 80s one that has a whole lotta faults of its own. BTW this guy sucks at pedal demos. I have an original and these reissues sound pretty close stock. and if can't get a reissue sounding like an original by tweaking with your amp's EQ or your guitar's you suck and have been brainwashed by hype started by the Ibanez corperation.

Beware, the 808 doesn´t sound as bad as in this demo. According to me it´s the best overdrive pedal ever made. I use it as main pedal & have a 09 tubescreamer as a booster. Works awesome.

this TS has a significantly more amount of gain than the ts-9
it is also warmer and more crunchy.
i dont why people use it as a distortion pedal . it is a signal BOOST it is meant to boost your leads so you dont have to screw with your volume on your guitar.
and also this is NOT supposed to be used with solidstate amps this is meant to make the tubes burn like crazy.
A Rickenbacker and a Marshall aren't that bad, considering Pete Townshend did that early in his career, but the tube screamer is just stupid, they don't mix!
keep in mind that townshend used an old marshall (new for him), a JTM45. this guy is using a JCM2000 DSL, one of the crappiest amps marshall has ever put out. they break down as soon as you leave the store.
I'm trying to figure out how to boost my distortion to give me more screaming leads. I play a strat thu a fender twin. I use a sansamp preamp (sounds pretty close to a mesa boogie/bassman/marshall tones!) but I need something just to give it an edge.

EPILPROCKER you're wrong. Peter Buck, Paul Weller, John Lennon, George Harrison, Roger McGuinn, Joe Walsh, and loads of recent bands have used or currently do use rickenbackers, some exclusively. For most people, the only reason they don't play a rickenbacker is because they can't afford one. And then theres all the childish people who say rickenbackers suck just because they are jealous of people who could afford them.

I really don't care if people think Rickenbackers are good or not. I don't like them, and I don't think they should be used in a test for a popular pedal like the Tubescreamer. Also because there is no point in using an overdrive pedal with a guitar that is only good for cleans. And by the way, I am more than happy with my $1200 Gibson. Don't tell me I'm jealous.
Thats just your opinion - doesn't make it true. Whether you like Ricks or not they are some of the best quality instruments out there - i know they are not to everyones taste, but as far as EPILPROCKERs first argument went ("nobody uses rickenbackers"), thats what he was wrong about - and does it really matter whether he's using any particular guitar? The demo is for the pedal - although, this guy doesn't demo the pedal as a boost (the tubescreamer is best for this) so it is a bit of a crap demo

The Mxr GT OD is pretty much the Tube screamer and tigher than the ZW OD. The ZW is much thicker sounding than traditional Ods.

Solid state amps are brittle sounding.
Tube amps are warm and thats what you want is a warm tone.
Its not that the pedal wont work, it just wont sound as good as it possible could.

Whats the point reviewing if we have no idea what the thing is going to sound like ie with an Ibanez, Gibson or a Strat type guitar which is what most people play? Some of their reviews use different guitars in one vid so we get an idea of what the sound is like. In answer to your question no I'm not 12 but I was once and had a lot of fun! So Mr poopcornholio any other comments?

You really missed the point! Who do you know that has one? Not a forum or wiki, who do you know ie neighbours or friends...you know people who are learning to play and want to listen to the sound of an effects pedal they may want to buy. Play a strat, a les paul and a shitenbacker side by side on the same amp with the same settings and then tell me the same thing! I can tell the sound differences of a guitars by just hearing it with my eyes closed and filling my ears with lard. You really need to get some ear training child!!! Now shut up or talk some sense. Hifi buffs used to come out with the same sort of crap as you just did! Try talking to Eric Johnson and telling him the crap you just came out with!!!

You aren't going to get very far in life little man if base everything on presuppositions. He plays 335s, Les Paul, countless strats and why...because he is a master of tone. Even strats sound different to each other. Yes he has lots of amps and effects...why because they all sound different and he likes the variety in tone. this TS has a significantly more amount of gain than the ts-9
it is also warmer and more crunchy.
i dont why people use it as a distortion pedal . it is a signal BOOST it is meant to boost your leads so you dont have to screw with your volume on your guitar.
and also this is NOT supposed to be used with solidstate amps this is meant to make the tubes burn like crazy.

keep in mind that townshend used an old marshall (new for him), a JTM45. this guy is using a JCM2000 DSL, one of the crappiest amps marshall has ever put out. they break down as soon as you leave the store.

I'm trying to figure out how to boost my distortion to give me more screaming leads. I play a strat thu a fender twin. I use a sansamp preamp (sounds pretty close to a mesa boogie/bassman/marshall tones!) but I need something just to give it an edge.
Would the tubescreamer be my answer? Just wondering.

EPILPROCKER you're wrong. Peter Buck, Paul Weller, John Lennon, George Harrison, Roger McGuinn, Joe Walsh, and loads of recent bands have used or currently do use rickenbackers, some exclusively. For most people, the only reason they don't play a rickenbacker is because they can't afford one. And then theres all the childish people who say rickenbackers suck just because they are jealous of people who could afford them.

I really don't care if people think Rickenbackers are good or not. I don't like them, and I don't think they should be used in a test for a popular pedal like the Tubescreamer. Also because there is no point in using an overdrive pedal with a guitar that is only good for cleans. And by the way, I am more than happy with my $1200 Gibson. Don't tell me I'm jealous.

Thats just your opinion - doesn't make it true. Whether you like Ricks or not they are some of the best quality instruments out there - i know they are not to everyones taste, but as far as EPILPROCKERs first argument went ("nobody uses rickenbackers"), thats what he was wrong about - and does it really matter whether he's using any particular guitar? The demo is for the pedal - although, this guy doesn't demo the pedal as a boost (the tubescreamer is best for this) so it is a bit of a crap demo
