  • Damn, he was so young then... and very different from now.

  • Good, but yorke is nothing if compared to tim buckley.

  • @MoonchildTheKing jeff buckley is better as well

  • @puddingball For sure.

  • Tim Buckley is better

  • Not very good.

  • What a great voice. I mean, damn.

  • i got major chills...

  • if he went on britains got talent with this voice or the x factor he would win. so fuck you anyone who says thom cant sing ... because THIS proves it. hes the greatist musician who has ever lived.

  • I never heard him sing like that before.

  • WOW this is awesome!!!

  • a wonder ...

  • i could never really criticize thom.... but when you listen to tim buckley sing this.... there is just no comparison. kudos to you thom for remembering tim... but anyone who thinks this is beautiful really really needs to listen to tim sing it himself...

  • right into bones.....

  • Good but Tim Buckley better.

  • I think it's funny when Radiohead fans think the cover is better than Tim's.

  • @BJORT yeah....totally, radiohead is ok and all but seriously if thom farts they think it's a masterpiece, lol

  • @theachtungtree Wouldn't it be ? :P

  • @Cricriiii no

  • not easy to play Tim Buckley....

  • Beautiful.....

  • voice of an angel

  • I have Radiohead's whole Reading 1994 performance on my profile :), as one whole video.

  • One of the most moving things I ever seen

    (on my youtube)

    (at about 5am)

    Still two thumbs for Thomas.x

  • Reason number 1,322,187 to love Radiohead and Thom Yorke!

  • gotta admit i was sceptical about this, but fuckin amazin cover by thom. and someone said the tim homage was lost on the crowd. i think you're right except for the guy on 8 seconds who lets out a yelp of delight when he realises what it is

  • tim buckley?

  • My vocal hero covering a song by another one of my vocal heroes!

  • Wow. I know Thom has a beautiful voice, but that was beautiful.

  • I have a sense that this poignant homage to Tim was completely lost on this crowd.

  • oh wait i just realized u may have made a great compliment to this.......Tallihoe!

  • yeah, so maybe next time you should think before you speak.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if he sang this even better today...

  • His voice has gotten a lot rougher, but what do you expect? There is no way a male singer can expect to maintain a falsetto that is that pristine after they turn 40. Look at Elton John.

  • OMG Thom is beautiful, inside and out

  • @Jupiterconjunct Some things are better left unsaid.

  • he had a amazing voice..

  • had?

  • has*

    ?

    o_o

  • Check your use of the past tense.

  • Divine voice

  • A wonderful version. Claudio

  • Wonderful tribute. I wish we could hear this again. <3

  • heavenly voice

  • Jeff Buck had almost as a beatiful voice as Thom, from what I've heard of his

  • GREAT !!!!!!!!

  • wow

  • che voce!!! stupenda versione *_*

  • Poignant...sweet...slightly unsettling.

  • TIM Buckley, not Jeff!!!!

  • Thom loved Jeff, it was a tribute

  • I really love this song! and a love radiohead too!

  • I LOVE YOU THOM! ! ! ! :-)

  • У виконанні Тома ця пісня звучить на багато ліпше

  • =)

(i wanted to make a comment just with that smiley but without this sentence the text would be too short to post it.)

  • Erm --- this is not the only version of Thom, or Radiohead for that matter - doing a cover of this song.

Not like they pulled it out of their arse because Jeff was there (or may have been there).

Search around - they did a full cover of this song, better than this.

  • Jeff was a friend of Thom,I think Jeff liked this version

  • Nah, he sang this because he's a Tim Buckley fan, that's all.

I doubt they knew Jeff was there. In fact, they probably didn't even know who Jeff Buckley was at this point - it was before John Leckie and the band went to see him in concert, after all.

  • del 1 al 10 le do un 1.000.000.000.000.000 excelente cancion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! que voz la de Tomm

  • q (*_*) p

that would be two thumbs down for you, good sir.

  • for whatever reason that showed up as a new comment, but was most definitely intended WalkandTalk (who has surprising good taste in literature, I might add.)

  • dude i bet you can't qualify your statement using only the power of your brain ok ready... Thom Yorke is an idiot because...

  • radiohead rules, fuck off WalkandTalk and go listen to your shit emo bands

  • Emo bands? Cool assumption, there. Let me name some of my favorite artists and see if the term "EMO" could possibly classify ANY OF THEM: BB King, Bill Withers, Ry Cooder, Television, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Brian Eno, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, the Beach Boys, Funkadelic, Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Henry Mancini, the Drifters, Ali Farka Toure.. .etc etc

You sir, are an absolute idiot and you should kind of kill yourself--kind of.

  • brian eno kind of sounds like emo...

so he has a point... kind of

  • Hahaha...

  • like hell brian eno is emo.. just his name (brian emo¿?) lol!!

but really emo and music have nothing to do with each other. and brian's music.. just like tim buckley

  • such a voice

  • Might be why he sang it.. Jeff played the next day, and usually artists are in and out of these festivals within hours, but you never know.

  • Seriously, what can't thom do?

  • I am in love with Thom Yorke's voice!!

  • sounds a bit like a national anthem

    beautiful

can't imagine he has hang ups because of his voice

  • no need to apologise, you're just wrong is all ;)

  • i agree...

  • i second agree that! His voice makes me shutter...it's haunting and completely beautiful

  • Thom's voice puts me in a trance.

  • Tim Buckley was brilliant, as was Jeff. Hats off for Thom even knowing this song.

  • No kidding.

  • american idol audition

  • Thom's voice sounds kind of Freddie Mercury-ish here.

  • My god that man has an angelic voice! lol

  • ok. that just gave me goosebumps.

what a voice. i love that man

  • nice!

  • wow he sounds very like tim at 0:55-1:04

... oh, i miss all things buckley

  • he made a good song ven cooler

    i love you Thom <3

  • give him credit for acapella

  • I love Radiohead and Thom, BUT...Tim's voice was way better...LEGEND.

  • Thom Yorke is fantastic but Tim Buckley's voice is better. Tim could read the telephone directory and it would sound beautiful!

  • ahahahahahahaha...good humor

  • contrary

  • so don't compare, enjoy

  • Prodigious.

  • Yorke has been very influenced by the Buckleys (father and son) and he took the best of both to put in his own music. That's why is great to see that.

  • Did he sing any more of this?

  • Jesus I've never seen this vid! I've been missing out, this is absurdly wonderful lol

  • thom's voice is so beautiful, it breaks my heart a little every time I hear him sing.

  • ne dediğini anlayaibilen var mı?

what did he said? (doğru yazdım mı acaba :) )

  • thoms voice is amazing.

    love this song!

  • perfect!!

    mükemmel... :)

  • wow! i never knew this existed, two of m y favourite artists in one

  • GREAT, beautiful!! what an amazing voice he has got!

  • awesome

  • you can find the whole concert on google video :D

  • wow, thoms voice is amazing, i only wish i was there, thom is god!!!

  • It certainly wasn't at Reading 1994 they pulled out of that - I know I was there and am still gutted!there is a great (non acapella) MP3 bootleg out there but i no longer have it - anyone with any ideas?

  • mate as the camera zooms in the banners say reading 94??

  • use a sound recording program and record it from here in real time .. just switch ur mixer to WAVE .. and u should be ok ;)

  • WHAT!!!?

i had NO IDEA this existed!

now i have to find the mp3...

  • use a sound recording program and record it from here in real time .. just switch ur mixer to WAVE .. and u should be ok ;)

  • golden..

  • Thom Yorke never ceases to amaze me with his vocal abilities! This is just breath taking!

  • golden..

  • Thom was a big admirer of both Jeff and Tim. Jeff and Thom could have been in a band together I think...

  • unbelievably amazing...i tell you, thom yorke or radiohead for that matter will never cease to impress me!

  • thanks for posting this

  • Thom's voice here is superb.

  • wow, very different singing than his usual.. great

  • wow i cannot believe someone has managed to find this footage.
