  • It looks like simply a matter of recalculating your normals, EDIT MODE, SELECT ALL + CRTL+N

  • i know what happened: it messed up like that, because there where 2 planes directly at the same location, sometimes the plane getting the light shows up for the cam, sometimes the plane getting all the shadows apears because they are directly at the same location so it is caoticaly showing both planes. there is an option to merge double verticies (verticies at the same location), use it. you should allso consider the top plane of that building to be sharp-shaded, not smooth, wich would fix a bit

  • this is nice

  • that's actually pretty good

  • how do you render (new to blender) when i go to render i click animate then he starts rendering but after that not even a clip or something appears

  • I must say I am amazed that people CONTINUE to comment on the errors made in this video that I created FOUR years ago :-) I mean, seriously guys? I know what the mistake is, I know the sky looks terrible, and YES, I meant to write nox instead of Fox (hint; my username?). I have a fixed version of the file somewhere on my computer as I fixed it shortly after uploading the video, but I have never uploaded it again.

BUT, thankyou to all the kind people who try to help me, it is very nice of you.

  • @noxHand You realise you made a mistake in this render? Thought you should know.

  • Yo dawg, I heard you like faces, so we put some faces in yo faces but it ruined your render.

  • Am i the only one that noticed this says 'NOX' instead of 'FOX'???

  • @cheatmasterbw the top rated comment.

  • @meringu Why thank you kind soul

  • GOD FUCKING DAMMIT EVERYONE HIS CHANNEL NAME IS NOXHAND DIPSHITS.

  • I think it looked cool with the sky in the background, except you spelled "Fox" wrong...

  • @hermiethehero OMG its his channel name! LOL

  • @TheTechJoint ok, didnt see it...

  • @hermiethehero I know.. Im deeply sorry for having such an outrage... my fish died.

  • @TheTechJoint thats ok, sorry for your fish, know how you feel, had three fishes before, they died too

  • The reflectivity of the material is being interferred by the multiple lights in the animation. that is why u are getting the flashy on off appearance.

  • good but i think i know what went wrong.

you probably have 2 layers in the bit that flickers overlapping.

    tell me if it works.

  • fail.

  • X-fight

  • Thanks, though if you follow the thread you might see that it's a little late for the fix -- but cheers ;)

  • Looks like lots of Z-fighting.

  • @retrotails

    x-fighting Lmfao!

  • There Is NO SOOOOOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow this is really good, shame the render failed.

  • hey,

how did you do the lights - I mean the big "search-lights" like in Batman? I tried it but with no effect. I make some poster and I need it very badly.

    regards

    Stan

  • @stassad1, I am not sure about the newer versions of Blender, but in the Lamp options, make it a Spotlight, and there should be a button called "Halo" on the lamp. That makes the light visible. Pretty sure,anyway.. Can't test it at the moment.

  • @noxHand Thanks, I tried spot light but forgot the halo. I will try it. thanks a lot.

  • Go in edit mode, select everything and press CTRL+N

  • yes, that should solve it ...

  • that's funny

  • hahah u shouls check out mine man let me kmow wat u think

  • lolo!

  • Okay, as everyone is saying, your problems are in the normals, but also, select all vertices and remove doubles (it's in the special menu (w) )

  • nice movie, I've encountered the same problem as well... More than once

  • nox :D You don't want to know What it means An Estonian Language :D

  • in latin, nox means night...

  • In estonian Nox Means Dick.

  • lol

  • whats it mean? hahah! curious

  • maybe there are 2 faces at the same place

  • that's the problem 100%

  • yep probably... or incorrect iluminating from lights... but actualy it is pretty cool and looks realy like the original lol :D

  • Yea recalculate the normal outside.

But it still looks pretty cool!

    5stars

  • go into edit mode. select all with A and press CTRL n ( it recalculates the normal outsides )

  • BUG?

  • Cool...Dont Think I'll Try This Tho...I'd Mess It Up Somehow, lol

    5 Stars :D

[Coment Below Is Reply To Earlier Post]

  • hay i wont to learn how to make textures in gimp for blender any one got any links to help

  • Ah, the ol' flipped "normal" flicker. I know it well. We first met in 2001 when the code had just went public... Everything flickered in those days... That's why they implemented the first motion blur algorithms, you know... To stop the incessant flickering...

    Flickering....

  • how did you get your render on youtube

  • Render It As An "AVI Raw" [ Quicker Upload]

    >Put In Windows Movie Maker, Publsh, Then Upload Onto Youtube.

  • The exact same happened to me. Think it's to do with SetSmooth. I'd try Subsurf and then smoothing it after, or as the other guys said, recalculate normals.

  • rsrsrsr fox no nox

  • wheres the sound?

  • whad'ya mean something went wrong? this is amazing!

  • Exactly what they said, two overlaying meshes or bad AO, or even messed up normals with smoothing turned on.

  • Holy hell, dude! That's amazing! I think your problem can occur by having 2 faces interlaced (one over the other in exactly the same coordinates in space). To fix this, if the faces are in the same object, just enter Edit Mode, press W, Remove Doubles.

(just to be on the safe side, flip the normals outside - Edit Mode, CTRL+N).

    Cheers,

    Dave.

  • Yeah, I think you have 2 interlaced faces. Whenever you create an object make sure you don't have doubles by pressing CTRL+N.

  • Nope, that's for making all the normals (an imaginary line that forms 90 degrees with the X and Y axes of every face) go OUT.

To remove doubles, select all faces/vertices, press W and Remove Doubles.

    Cheers again!

  • the problem is you're using a subsurf mesh with a few faces flipped the wrong way. try selecting the faces and hit ctrl+n or Edit>Normals>Recalculate Outside.

  • Anyone notice that it says NOX instead of FOX?

  • yes

  • i think that was the point...

  • @danecook321

yES, its the creator nickname ! LoL

  • @danecook321 Uhh... look at the dudes channel name lol...

  • @danecook321 His username

  • It looks like you have two different faces in exactly the same place, neither is higher than the other. That will cause the faces to sort of fight with each other for visibility. I think it's called Z-fighting, but anyway go back and check that.

  • that happen to me, when accidentaly, duplicate meshes, maybe you have two object in the same place

  • You should use this for a varation render for a movie.
