Well, I suppose some people have had issues with Vista. Just as some have issues with XP. But i've never had an issue with XP or Vista that was not easily resolved.

I think the most people that have OS issues are the tweakers, those that build there own systems from scratch. I tend to buy my systems with the OS pre-installed. I've never encountered those weird system crashes like NoThInG1337rofl has. It sounds more like a problem with your rig than an OS problem.

I build systems from scratch, and I don't have problem with either. The crash thing was probably his fault. The problem with vista is it was slow, memory hog, was shit at running games compared to XP. And they are working to make windows 7 what vista SHOULD have been.

At beta, windows 7 is beating vista at a lot of benchmarks. But XP is still on top. Xp has been around, it's stable. Once they start really working on windows 7 i think it will be Superior to XP and Vista.

Windows 7 is faster than mac IMO. Windows Vista was a terrible OS, it made Microsoft look like complete idiots when they released it. But as everyone else has said, windows is a lot riskier than mac, mainly because theres a lot more things going on in windows than mac. But another advantage to windows is that is it so much more cheaper than a mac. Macs ARE overpriced like hell and its pathetic how apple do that to be honest.

not sure about that guiness world record... i havent had a single problem with malware or viruses since using windows vista and now windows 7 over the past year. all it takes is half a brain and an antivirus program and windows will definitely run clean. no crashing, no sluggish performance, no bullshit. while macs are good for creating media, the reliability of the pc depends entirely on its user, so generalizing that windows is insecure really isn't fair. the problem is its users being stupid

Well, there were security holes in Vista and now a VERY large and unfixed one coming to Windows 7. This report of the security hole comes from a user who only wants the best for his OS. Unix based computers have far less problems. The problem is risk - you may not get a virus in your entire usage period but it is far more risky in a Windows machine than in a Mac or Linux one.

Shake is useless. But Windows 7 is so f'ing amazing. That's no joke. Listen to this--test machine specs: Intel P4 single core cpu, 1 & 1/4 GB RAM, geforce fx series video card and Windows 7 runs just as fast as the XP Pro it dual boots with. I tested Vista on this very same machine and it was almost slow to the point of being inoperable. Windows 7 will definitely allow XP to finally bow out with grace...Plus the UAC isn't half as stringent as it is in Vista. I have full admin rights over the pc.

Apple computers, like PCs, have Intel processors and chipsets as well as ATi/Nvidia Processors. The same intel, ati, and nvidia components that you can find on a Mac are designed in the same exact place the PC components are designed too. In fact, most of these components are, in fact, NOT assembled in China at all. Its mostly done in Japan, Taiwan, etc...

The only "work" that goes on at the apple HQ in California is designing the case. Apples share the same internal components as PCs (Intel cpu/chipsets, nvidia/ati graphics etc..) So in effect, the hardware inside a PC is from the same place that the hardware of a Mac is.
