  • I have a new sony HDR-CX130 camcorder and when I put it to USB, download the footage to my computer and play it back, it has lag. I was wondering how I can get rid of this so that I can edit the footage and put it to youtube? Thanks. Also, I was playing it back with Windows 7 software, what ever it came with stock. I've also tried to put it in the supplied Sony software (PMB), but the lag is even worse playing it back on that. A lot worse. Not sure why or what to do. Thanks for any help.

  • Fast, easy, explain perfect !!!

    Thank you.

  • Thanks dude. Can I edit hd on fcp version 4?

  • Don't forget to set the import preferences to Apple Prores 422 so editing afterwards is easier. There are a few Prores settings but the normal one is fine for mor=st everything. LQ looks terrible and HQ takes up WAY too much space

  • thanks! Helpful video. Would you have any idea how to transfer MTS files that I saved from the camera directly to the harddrive? For some reason I am not able to get them into Final Cut Express 4 through LOG & TRANSFER. LOG & TRANSFER does work if I take the footage directly from the camera

    Thanks

  • i cant make that because when i did open log & transfer, final cut pro dont find my clips from my sony nexvg10 AVCHD and after that FCP turn off... i dont know why... .. i need help:S...

  • At 1:10, you said you would show what to do if the camera doesnt show... and you never did. what do you have to do? for a while mine would show but all of a sudden it never comes up

  • @babygurl59033 I had the same problem, and after doing some research I figured out how to fix it for myself. What I did was go to the gear icon at the top of the 'log and transfer' box. Under that menu I selected 'preferences' then changed the audio from 'mixed stereo' to 'plain stereo' and it imported without a hitch. Hope this helps.

  • @AGxKnockout That worked out beautifully thanks a lot man i have been trying to figure this out for two years thank you thank you thank you oh by the way did i say thank you check out my comedy sets at thongcomic on you tube

  • I use Final Cut Pro, and when I log and transfer my AVCHD (1080 50i)files (by connecting my panasonic sd60 directly to my macbook via usb 2.0) they show up in the system as pro res 422 files and 25fps. They're also listed as interlaced. Should they be? Also, what way do you export so as to have the highest quality output?

  • what program do you use to film your screen

  • Really? Hmm.. that is weird...

  • any suggestions?

  • @fcblackbridge

I just figured it out, you have to go to easy setup and set it for a avchd format, after you do that it should work. The video that helped me was called "log and transfer idle"

  • @AJCShow you have to update final cut and then it works

  • @AJCShow ME TOO !!

  • @AJCShow

I have final cut pro 7.0 and when i log and transfer then try to "add volume" it says my avchd files are not supported. whats going on??????

  • @fcblackbridge

Same thing with me. I put it into imovie and made a XML file.

  • @fcblackbridge Yeah! The same thing happens with me! I don't know why?! =(

  • @fcblackbridge Same here man! Did you figure it out yet??

  • @fcblackbridge It does that to me too and now i'm starting to get really pissed off.

  • @fcblackbridge ever get that fixed because the same happens to me

  • @lilbitrandom22 yeah it was just because my final cut express wasnt updated, so all you have to do is get the update and itll work

  • @fcblackbridge well i just got my new iMac and fce but ill check if theres an update or not

  • @fcblackbridge

I have the SAME problem. If you ever figure out the problem, PLZ let me know!

  • @fcblackbridge the same things happening to me, did you ever figure out how to fix it

  • @fcblackbridge i Got the same problem but nobody knows what to do. Can you help me?

    Srry for my english ..

  • @fcblackbridge same here :(

  • @fcblackbridge same here

  • @fcblackbridge hey i have the same problem if u find a solution please let me know thanks.

  • HAWT :D... kidding, how much did your camera cost? its pretty good quality.

  • It costs around 1000 bucks.

  • I would suggest finding a video converter. I use something appropriately called AVCHD Converter. It allows me to convert AVCHD footage into other files that will be recognizable to Avid, Final Cut, whatever you use. It also doesn't have any lag (although if you're editing on a macbook I would suggest you look into getting Avid as Final Cut will freeze up even with quicktime files. Overall, the file converters are much easier and you don't lose any quality in the video.

  • It's good work, nice video. And the sound is ok ;)

  • The reason its lagging is because it is an unrendered file. AVCHD is recognizable to Final Cut, thats how you imported it... Unrendered files are a pain in final cut because rendering is quite time consuming, as you might know. Good video, i think a lot of people might have had this problem.

  • Yes, rendering takes so long to do! Thanks!
