Global Warming is a myth - I'm in Ireland and we just had the most snow and lowest temperatures this winter since the 1950s (This includes Britain) but guess what? They blame it on global warming - Bullshit!!! But apart from that he's right.
this must have been made before obama was elected ( of course) i hope brad does one of these for the conservatives now that we know the fucking truth.....of course/......... he wont...... hed need to grow a few brain cells first
If Democrats were so wonderful how come the 10 poorest cities in the USA are all run by Democrats and have been for 20 years? Republicans are not any better either but I get tired of hearing how bad Republicans are all the time from the media. Democrats are no better. You have two political parties that are mirror images of each other. They are both interested in one thing POWER
Whitford you a utter moron and a liar. This video is so absurd I don't even know where to begin. This proves why you can only play a intelligent person on television and not real life.
There was a time for politics and that time is over. Now there are no Democrats, no Republicans. Only two types of people exist in the country. Those trying to make things better and those who are making things worse. Recognize the humanity in your fellow Americans. For your brother is still your brother even when he is in a different party.
So I guess its okay to call Pres. Bush a liar and VP Cheney "evil"; I guess its okay to challenge Gen Petraus' patriotism; I guess its okay to destroy the reputation of people like Sarah Palin and John McCain; and I guess its okay to label anyone who doesn't agree with you as either "neocons", "fascists", or right wing fanatics. Man am I glad the political putridness of this great country only goes in one direction!?
Gore is a tree-hugging liar & global warming is a myth.
And what's with the "steal" another 4 years? I could just as easily say Obama stole this election.
First you call the Republicans the "honorable" people on the other side of the aisle yet you totally insult the honorable man known best for his proven track record of working with the other party, John McCain. You all just threw mud on him, a man who selflessly gave a lifetime to gallant service to his country.
I also used to think the Republican Party was only for rich Whites. That's back when I was a Liberal & my beliefs were based in Marxism.
Then I grew up & started thinking for myself. I stopped adhering to Marxism. You see, Marxists see the world in terms of money, & only in terms of money. That's a very, very narrow view of the world. Conservatives don't see things that way, and so are free thinkers.
What exactly do you think Marxism is? Having read every book and essay Marx wrote I don't see how you are confusing Marxist, liberal, socialist and capitalist. Marx said that unions of organized people would have to rise up and violently overthrow the government and put a non-democratic, socialist government in it's place. That isn't liberalism, nor democratic socialism. I think, perhaps, you've started watching Fox news.
--I don't "think," I know because I've studied it. Where did I confuse capitalists with Marxists? Marxism is about class warfare, and about taking from the "rich" and giving it to the poor or "workers."
"That isn't liberalism, nor democratic socialism"
--They're not exactly the same, but their philosophies are ROOTED in Marxism, and many times to be brief I lump them all together because in the end they're all the same anyway.
Liberalism does not, in anyway have it's roots in communism, socialism or marxism. If you had studied any of those things you would know that. Also marxism does NOT take money from the rich and give it to the poor, under a marxist government there would be no rich people to take the money from. The government would control the flow of goods and cash, rather then using taxation. Marxism doesn't = wellfare.
"Liberalism does not, in anyway have it's roots in communism, socialism or marxism. If you had studied any of those things you would know"
--You're wrong, & I have studied them, which is why I know. You're a Liberal & you're either ignorant or you've been programmed to deny it publicly. Those are the 2 kinds of Liberals, from what I've observed over the years. You're no different. In my opinion you're one of the programmed ones, since you so quickly and fervently rose up to deny the connection.
"marxism does NOT take money from the rich and give it to the poor, under a marxist government there would be no rich people to take the money from. The government would control the flow of goods and cash"
--For Marxism to take hold there would have to be a transition. So the money would be taken either by force, which Communists favor, or through massive taxation.
And please tell me how else would there be no rich people in a Marxist nation?
Marxism requires the VIOLENT overthrow of the previous government. Taxation is not involved, period. The facts don't back up your opinions, and like most uber conservatives when someone shows you this you resort to name calling. Let me guess the next witty thing you will do is explain why god is on your side, I am going to hell and oh yes because I disagree with your ranting I am "unpatriotic". Now that we have that out of the way perhaps you can backup something you've said with a source?
Marxism requires the violent overthrow of the government by unions. That's what it is. Communists are NOT capitalists. It is a Utopian ideal where the government controls the flow of goods and money. They dn't tax people because they control where the money goes in the first place. Also, since the Marxist revolution is an overthrow there is no point in time where an interim government would raise taxes, The people come in, kill the leaders. Go read about the 1917 russian revolution.
Last thing. I am not a liberal. I feel the need to defend liberalism from the attacks of the bigoted religious right the same way I would protect a puppy from being drowned without wanting to go buy a dog. Not liking the rude, ignorant comments of Neo-con bible thumpers is not the same as liking liberalism.
Oh come, come now you are a member of the Republican party. The party that is anti-gay because of the "bible", anti-condom because of the "bible", anit-drug coverage for birth control, abortion. The problem with small government conservatives is that they want to shrink the federal government just small enough to fit in our bedrooms. For the record I am libertarian not liberal. I would be happy if the government were tiny, after all if they can't agree on something they should just shut up.
If you were truly Libertarian you wouldn't have a problem with my Conservative views & religious beliefs. Nor would you have such a negative view of Christianity.
And your assumptions are very wrong, & mostly just propaganda type phrases. "Anti-condom because of the Bible?" No. We're against condoms being handed out to children in schools. "Anti-drug coverage for birth control & abortion?" No, we're against GOVT paying for those. As a "Libertarian" you'd agree the govt isn't in that business.
Well since I AM a libertarian I think, perhaps, I am the best judge of what I believe. Conservatives seem to be confused with what their rights are and what other people's rights are. As a PARTY, I'll choose to not speak for you, the Republicans want to legislate what my wife can and can't do, what my kids can and can't do. What if I want the schools giving my daughter condoms and sex ed? No one is saying your child has to have it, but why can't mine? I want each family to have choices.
"Well since I AM a libertarian I think, perhaps, I am the best judge of what I believe"
--My understanding of what a Libertarian is comes from an actual Libertarian, Larry Elder.
"I want each family to have choices"
--As do we. But let's at least agree that it's not the government's business or the school's business to distribute condoms to school children. No more than it is for them to teach children about "alternative" family structures and homosexuality.
I won't argue my political view with a fool. I said what I believe if you insist on saying that I am a liar and not ACTUALLY a libertarian then I think that just shows how narrow minded you are. Why do YOU get to decide what my kids learn? Who gave you that right? Tell me that. Why can't my 17 year old daughter get access to a condom when she has sex? Why does that impact YOUR life at all. For that matter why does Matt and Bob's sex life impact you, much less there marrige.
LOL When did it become your culture? It's also the culture of the "fagots" you hate. It's also the culture of the liberals you hate. It's also the culture of the lying, sneaky, not-libertarians who agree with small government philosophy while despising your hate mongering. For that matter a Dem is office, a black one no less, don't look now...it appears it really isn't your culture anymore.
--It's worded correctly. I am a member of my culture. Go read an English grammar textbook, dipshit.
"culture of the "fagots" you hate"
--1st, I don't hate them. 2nd, it's also the culture of the KKK you hate. But both are fringe elements of the culture, and not necessarily desirable ones.
"despising your hate mongering"
--You're talking about someone else, so don't attribute that to me, thanks.
I used to like this guy a lot, but he is sadly an extremist whose views are as worthless to me as the right wing. I honestly am an open minded individuale with an understanding of both parties, people like him make other democrats look terrible and stupid, and make their opponents look good.
So because your children can't "afford another Republican president", you are voting for a socialist who will take away from people who have worked for things and give to people who have not? Talk about a dirty trick!
I come from Australia. Its fascinating to see how americans characterise 'social democracy' as communism. Nearly every first world white european country would be considered communist/socialist hellholes by your republicans definition...
But guess what America? heres a secret...'socialism'??? as you call it at least....its wonderful.
There is a reason this guy plays a creepy ass role in every movie...LOSER! Gonna kick you in your ass like that 16 yr old kid in Adventures in Babysitting! Fuck you "Bradley."
I'm a bit upset that I had to sit through 45 seconds of this fellow stroking himself before he had gotten around to the point.
It is a bit odd, sir, that you consider a plan predicated upon, you know, having citizens vote a "dirty trick."
Also absent, Mr. Whithered, is any mention of the 2004 Colorodo initiative propounded by the Democrats in order to allocate that state's electoral votes pro rata. Sauce for the goose . . .
He makes republicans sound like they're trying to start a war or build nuclear weapons. Not all republicans are the same. If we got another republican president, it wouldn't change hardly anything. Ya Hillary and Obama say that they're going to change everything, but in reality they won't. They just need to sound convincing to get elected.
Yeah, well where only three candidates, regardless of side of the AISLE that spoke the truth. The leading DEMO candidates are just as bad as the leading REPUBs....
America isn't smart enough to vote smart enough, end of story!
yea like the democrats are any different there all working for the same people and ideologies nothing will change , the only decent chance is ron paul doesnt look like thats gonna happen .
gore is a cfr memeber, or at least a supporter, and global warming IS A SCAM, i was going to go for nader, but im not even sure if HE'S for real, so im thinking mckinney i guess, i hope paul runs independent
He won't but that's ok, the republican party is ripe for taking back to the future.
This democrat actor is all about his tribe, not the other tribe. I'm not about 'tribes' I'm about the constitution and so is Dr. Paul.
BUT- The 2-party system is too entrenched in its tribalist b.s. (both play the dirty trick) and republican party is the target to take back the constitution.
Sorry, actor dude, I don't buy your tribal talk. The dems are just as tyranical.
but clinton and obama are on he same team, so who is he for? ron paul? nader? mckinney? gravel? if he's for either obama or clinton then he's PART OF THE SCAM!
He's for any democrat, I'm sure. He hasn't the foggiest notion that he and his children have grown up in an indoctrinating socialist school system.
Neither Clinton, Obama or Gore will stop the middle-east occupation. They'll only move the pawns around the board a bit, everything will stay the same, the fed reserve will stay the same (print more in fact) and the falsehoods will continue.
If only Republicans really did have horns, forked tongues, hooves, and pointy tails! How easy all of our decisions would be. Sure, Bradley, all Republicans care about is polluting the air, poisoning our water, stealing elections, lynching minorities, and sterilizing women. And all Democrats want peace, untold wealth for everyone, free health care and college, and year-round nice weather. Thank God we have out-to-lunch Hollywood B-listers like you to do all of our thinking for us.
How many Democrats "objected" when Ted Kennedy drowned poor Mary Jo Kopechne and then lied about it? Does that mean that all Democrats are murderers? Of course not. But if you (like the arrogant, deluded fool in this video) think the corruption on Capitol Hill is limited to the right side of the aisle, then you just might be a hopeless case.
My comment didn't come out where I wanted it to. I was trying to say that DSM1231's comment about avoiding fearmongering (as used in this video) in favor of a reasonable exchange of ideas is both smart and productive.
This is what happens when uneducated, uninformed actors try to get involved in politics - they are made fools of.
Brad, you're a great actor. But politics takes a little somthing more. It takes a real thinker in addition to being educated on little things like, oh let's say, the electoral process. You may have read the lines wonderfully for 7 seasons, but in real life you are nothing but a talking point spewing hack. Don't quit your day job!
This isn't close to hate speech DSM. He did not say all republicans, He basically attacked the party itself and those in charge. I can't see even most republicans, who have seen their government spend itself trillions of dollars into the hole, and gain more power over its citizens, happy with their current government. The current government is proposing a law that basically makes it easier for them to get elected, which is what Bradley is so frustrated with.
Yes, it IS hate speech. "If only Democrats had the same contempt for the truth as our honorable friends across the aisle" is a sweeping, bigoted generalization which brands those "across the aisle" (read: Republicans) as dishonest. Is Ron Paul less honest than Bill Clinton?
If only life were as simple as "Democrats=good, Republicans=evil," we wouldn't have to think for ourselves, would we? We could just let Bradley Whitford do our thinking for us.
Does anyone actually know why you're at war with those people east? It doesn't sound like it sometimes! if i were american, and thank god (although obviously he doesn't exist!) i'm not, still, if i were, i'd be a democrat. although inevitably all politicians are corrupt let's face it. Who can we really trust? Evil will always triumph, the meek will always fall, that's just survival i guess. zeitgeistdotcom
There really isn't a need for an electoral college at this point, but whatever. The initiative he's talking about isn't going to pass, but if it were then it would only be fair if every state had the same system. As is, it's just a sneaky way for Republicans to cheat - not that it makes much difference who's in the White House anyways.
This is borderline hate speech. So this bigot thinks that all Republicans are gun-toting election-stealing rednecks who want to pollute the air, contaminate the water, and throw widows and orphans out on the street. Well, since he said quite plainly that his children couldn't afford to live under 4 more years of Republicans (and that was back in 2004), I assume he has left the country by now?
Whoops, I see this was actually posted this year! My mistake. Still, I would wager that after the upcoming Republican victory in 2008, his children will somehow manage to survive. I'm a liberal, but I don't go for this kind of fearmongering. A reasoned exchange of good ideas is called for.
If you fail to object to the misdeeds of these leaders because, then you too have the same "contempt for the truth" and Mr. Whitfords's broad indictment is spot on.
If, however you objected to the dismissal of qualified, dedicated diplomats and staffers for having the nerve to object to his adolescent foreign policy, or the deliberate and systematic corruption of the House under Delay, or Bush's contradiction of constitutional principles, then we'd all apologize. But you didn't object, did you?
In other words, those who hold different views than your own have "contempt for the truth." This is narrow-minded and anti-intellectual. How uncomplicated life would be if only the world were so black and white! And how dull!
I decried the lack of objection from Republicans to the abuses and lies of their leaders. I charged that those who failed to object had "contempt for the truth". Am I wrong?
DeLay tried to alter House ethics rules and deposed the committee chair for resisting. (Hefley) Bush ignored, then dismissed well-informed advisors and security experts for challenging his inept delusions. (Clark et al).
Your misdirection tact makes me think, maybe Whitford's indictment just hit too close to home?
Maybe you don't know enough Republicans. I would be surprised if you have any friends who are Republicans, since you very conveniently (and narrowmindedly)assume that they are all dishonest, and are all in favor of corruption. Such simplemindedness ill-becomes any free-thinking adult. I am a liberal Democrat, but I don't blindly dismiss all those whose views differ from mine. Most sincere ideas deserve some degree of consideration from a thoughtful person.
I AM a Republican. Or was. What I saw around me was a group that wanted to win elections, advance their agenda and hold power - regardless of the tactics and compromises required, blinded by self righteousness and partisan zeal. Hefley was a republican as was Lincoln Chafee - I respect both for the stands they took, but they were in sparse company as DeLay cracked his whip and Bush made his threats.
How telling that you had to go all the way to Chappaquidick to find any comparison.
Your own party affiliation is totally irrelevant to your simplistic "us versus them" view of society. I most certainly didn't have to go back to Chappaquiddick to make my point. I could have referred to the countless Clinton scandals, Barney Frank, Congressman Jefferson, Mosely Braun, or others on BOTH SIDES I could mention. Democrats "want to win elections, advance their agenda, or hold power" without regard to tactics or compromises, as much as Republicans. To feel otherwise is totally naive.
It was relevant enough that you brought it up. Now it's not?
I disagree though. It is relevant, as the rank and file of each party should hold their own representatives to a higher standard than the other, higher than what we see displayed by either party.
That said the Republicans of the current administration and the last congress pushed the boundaries farther than we'd seen since the days of Tammany Hall, and there was no outcry, no resistance from their supporters.
Your previous (alleged) affiliation with a different political party is irrelevant to your current simplistic view of politics. The very fact that you asserted that I "had" to go back to Chappaquiddick to cite an example of Democratic wrongdoing proves how uncritical your thinking is with regard to the party. Socrates admonished us to, "Question everything," not "Just question conservatism!" You don't need this frivolous Hollywood nitwit to do your thinking for you.
Remember to support the war, support the patriot act, support the new world order, vote democrat in 2008. Yea to constant war since 1954, war war war kill kill kill oil oil oil. Vote democrat keep the dream of big corporate government alive!!!!
So they want to allocate the electoral college votes based on whom won that district, meaning that if republicans won that district, that that electoral vote would have to go to the republican nominee? Whats wrong with that? Sound democratic to me.
But as the number of Iraquis and Afghanis killed, er liberated, approaches 1 million,
these are nearing Hitlerian numbers. Bush and Cheney avoid public appearances, except among cronies, so while they may live in luxury, they are severely limited to where they can go. For Pete's sake, the egged his inaugural limo. Twice.
as much as i personally agree with your statement Sacredolphin, i hope you do not seriously expect that to happen. Americans and really most people in general are not capable of the deliberation and scrutiny of their own actions that is required to lead us towards actually charging them. most would rather believe that they are always good, and good always prevails. instead of holding themselves or their politicians responsible for their actions.
bush, cheney, rumsfeld, powell, and a cast of many more will spend the rest of their days in luxury. while countless others try to cope with their decisions. they will see no jail, unfortunately.

Are you sure the democrats want your help? I mean, you couldn't even convince people to watch Studio 60... how are you going to beat the republicans, who are "clearly better at this?" =P
Heard you on Real Time with Bill Maher.. and you sounded like a slightly angrier, slightly less informed Rosie O'Donnell.
CA redistricting gives power 2 cities-takes away from rural states who lose their say with this change. Change against what Constitution intended. Electoral College designed so smaller states have say. Redistricting in CA hands power 2 urban areas, in the end little guy's forgotten. Big cities elect the president & all else votes don't matter. Much of America's sparsely populated & their voices deserve 2 be heard too. What may seem like a good idea for Repubs in CA is a bad idea 4 America
But, but, but... if we don't allow the repukes to steal the white house (again), then that would mean the DEMOCRATS would have it. Right?
(posted by a 25 year veteran yellow dog dem who is sick of the faux opp party! I say go ahead and give the repukes 8 more years to completely dismantle this country. THEN and only THEN will real people take responsibility for the govt we create.)
but the parties generally try to eliminate the few free thinkers in their own party for political gain and the never have intelligent reasons for it. ex. much like Rudy did to Ron Paul because he stated that we were indeed not attacked for our "freedom" like bush and his cult like to claim.
i hate when someone says i'm republican or democrat. how can you honestly say that one side is always right? and to defend those who our wrong is just being stubborn, which is nothing to be proud of. i choose each election who i think is better which is generally a dem. but this year it is ron paul but i also supported clinton, gore, and kerry previously. but i never have a problem backing a republican when they are smart, honest, and have good ideas.
THANK YOU! I pretty much find both parties reprehensible for different reasons. I'm liking Obama so far, because he seems to be able to express his differences with Republican policies without resorting to the "All Republicans are evil/All Democrats are pure angels" crap. I have also decided to investigate Ron Paul further, I don't know much about him.
Ron Paul is coocoobananas! Seriously. Yeah, I am down with everything he has to say about the iraq occupation. Of course. But he's bona fide nuts. Investigate thoroughly. Me? I will be voting Kucinich, unless Gore gets in.
was wondering how you could think that there is any different between the dem's and rep's they are all in the same club and they both want the same thing if they did not why are we still in iraq? why is bush and crooks still in office? why did both side lie or go along with the reason we went to war? Wake up people there is not different between the republican or democrats they are all lairs and everyone know it that has any sense don't be anyones slave think!!!!!!!!!
i completely agree timetofly, and i dont think anything will change unless we retool our own gov. forget having parties at this point it just takes away from serious debate, and forget private campaign funding all advertising funds should be public and divided evenly so that people like ron paul would have a chance. and of course stop the lobbyist that would be a start in my opinion. i know what i'd like to see won't happen but i think we'd be better off if it did.
This sounds pretty fishy..... it's not like they couldn't collect the 400,000+ signatures to put this thing on the ballot. It looks like a lot of shady characters and organizations were starting to get exposed, so they folded the tent. Democrats better stay focused b/c there's nothing more dangerous than a group of exposed elitists with money planning for "revenge".
It must be MY age, he looks pretty darn young to me. (blushes) See what those rotten Republicans are doing now! Also I've been watching them vote on health care for American kids; they are going to back Bush's veto! VOTE EVERY REPUBLICAN OUT OF A JOB!
berryg you are amused by dancing circus bears? well i'm sure there is someone out there who can help you overcome your beastiality addiction just stay strong, and try to stop dreaming about that dancing bear.

I have to give him credit as an actor. How he can sit there and keep a straight face while lying through his teeth is incredible. Does he really want to compare the tactics of the Republicans to those of the Democrats? The Republicans win because they have better IDEAS than the Democrats.
Wed: the Dems won the presidential popular vote in 3 of the last 4 elections, have control of the House and Senate, control 28 governorships and the plurality of state legislatures. If, as you say, the best ideas win, then, at this point at least, you'd have to say the Dems have the best ideas. That's if you think winning and being right are always the same thing.
Presidential elections are not won by popular vote however. Tell me what great ideas did the Democrats run on in 2006? I personally think the Republicans lost more than the Democrats won. When Republicans run on conservatism and actually follow through, they are unstoppable.
Wed: yep, pres. elections are not won on the popular vote, which makes the US a peculiar sort of "democracy." And yes, the Repubs lost it in 2006, just like they lost it in 1932, which, except for a very brief time in the 1950s, is the last time they controlled the White House and both chambers of Congress at the same time. Hardly seem "unstoppable" to me.
Looks like they have hit a brick wall this time! (smile) I am praying for a "Hat Trick." VOTE EVERY ROTTEN REPUBLICAN OUT OF A JOB: REMIND THEM WHO THEY WORK FOR!
Organizations like "Take Initiative America" have patriotic/legitimate sounding names but are nothing more than money laundering fronts created to circumvent election laws..... that was apparently the reason these maggots put their tail b/w their legs and closed up shop. They'll be back though.... with another pro-American name and slogan..... evil has many faces.
The Patriot Act is a document that HITLER would not even have had the balls to draw up. But yet all the leading democrats voted for it, not once but fucking TWICE.
What is so sad is that many people think electing a Democrat president will somehow change the Fascist course our nation has been on for 25 years. It will not. There will be NO middle class, health care will be just mandatory insurance (like car insurance), the war will continue, etc. So sad my countrymen dont know whats happening.
Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology seeks to forge a type of national unity, usually based on, but not limited to, ethnic, cultural, or racial attributes. Various scholars attribute different characteristics to fascism, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism, authoritarianism, militarism, corporatism, collectivism, totalitarianism, anti-communism, racism and opposition to economic and political liberalism
Signs of Fascism: 1. Powerful and continuing expressions of nationalism 2. Identification of enemies as a unifying cause 3. The supremacy of the military/avid militarism 4. A controlled mass media 5. Obsession with national security 6. Religion and ruling elite tied together 7. Power of corporations protected 8. Power of labor suppressed or eliminated 9. Obsession with crime and punishment 10. Rampant cronyism and corruption
Look at the 'bell curve' otherwise known at the I.Q. distribution. Bottom line is that half the folks who can vote are less than average in smarts. Of course the republicans win; their contempt in based on fact.
This is absolutely crucial. Thank you so much to Mr. Whitford and to the folks behind this campaign for their work on this important issue. This Republican vote grabbing scheme is un-American and must be stopped.
We've got to get the word out about this scheme. Not only is it horrible for Ds politically, but the substance of the measure takes us in the wrong direction as an electorate. So whether you are a partisan or a purist, you should oppose this. Real electoral college reform would not link itself to the allocation of electors by Congressional districts - already too gerrymandered to be a "true" measure of anything - but would move us to a national popular vote.
"If only Democrats had the same contempt for the truth as our honorable friends from across the aisle. But let's face it, you can't out-hypocrite a Republican."
this time bradley whitford isn't acting--he looks like he has the same ptsd that we all have, trying to live through the nightmare of the Cheney-Bush oil-dictator-alliances.
Global Warming is a myth - I'm in Ireland and we just had the most snow and lowest temperatures this winter since the 1950s (This includes Britain) but guess what? They blame it on global warming - Bullshit!!! But apart from that he's right.

NoirMusic 2 years ago
"What exactly do you think Marxism is?"
NoGuff 2 years ago
Liberalism does not, in anyway have it's roots in communism, socialism or marxism. If you had studied any of those things you would know that. Also marxism does NOT take money from the rich and give it to the poor, under a marxist government there would be no rich people to take the money from. The government would control the flow of goods and cash, rather then using taxation. Marxism doesn't = wellfare.
NoirMusic 2 years ago
"Liberalism does not, in anyway have it's roots in communism, socialism or marxism. If you had studied any of those things you would know"
--You're wrong, & I have studied them, which is why I know. You're a Liberal & you're either ignorant or you've been programmed to deny it publicly. Those are the 2 kinds of Liberals, from what I've observed over the years. You're no different. In my opinion you're one of the programmed ones, since you so quickly and fervently rose up to deny the connection.
NoGuff 2 years ago
"marxism does NOT take money from the rich and give it to the poor, under a marxist government there would be no rich people to take the money from. The government would control the flow of goods and cash"
--For Marxism to take hold there would have to be a transition. So the money would be taken either by force, which Communists favor, or through massive taxation.
And please tell me how else would there be no rich people in a Marxist nation?
You are a laughable idiot.
NoGuff 2 years ago
Marxism requires the VIOLENT overthrow of the previous government. Taxation is not involved, period. The facts don't back up your opinions, and like most uber conservatives when someone shows you this you resort to name calling. Let me guess the next witty thing you will do is explain why god is on your side, I am going to hell and oh yes because I disagree with your ranting I am "unpatriotic". Now that we have that out of the way perhaps you can backup something you've said with a source?
NoirMusic 2 years ago
"Marxism requires the VIOLENT overthrow"
--Wrong. That's what Communists advocate, not necessarily Marxists-Socialists.
"The facts don't back up your opinions"
--Yes they do. It's just that your "facts" are bullshit.
"because I disagree with your ranting I am "unpatriotic"."
--No, you're just wrong.
"perhaps you can backup something you've said with a source?"
--communism(dot)com for one, dim-wit. And plenty of other Marxist, Socialist, & Communist sites, also Wiki, and plenty of books.
NoGuff 2 years ago
Marxism requires the violent overthrow of the government by unions. That's what it is. Communists are NOT capitalists. It is a Utopian ideal where the government controls the flow of goods and money. They dn't tax people because they control where the money goes in the first place. Also, since the Marxist revolution is an overthrow there is no point in time where an interim government would raise taxes, The people come in, kill the leaders. Go read about the 1917 russian revolution.
NoirMusic 2 years ago
"Communists are NOT capitalists"
--I never said they are, you dip.
"since the Marxist revolution is an overthrow there is no point in time where an interim government would raise taxes"
--Again, even the Marxists disagree with you there. Communism is about violent overthrow.
"The people come in, kill the leaders. Go read about the 1917 russian revolution"
--Yeah! Communism, you dipshit! You Leftists can't even get your own stories straight. That's what I love about you.

NoirMusic 2 years ago
"I am not a liberal. I feel the need to defend liberalism from the attacks of the bigoted religious right"
--Stop lying to everyone, including yourself. It will eat you up inside.
"religious right"
"bible thumpers"
--Where have I mentioned anything about the Bible or religion here? Sounds to me like you're the one making "ignorant and bigoted attacks."
I just love Liberal hypocrisy. It's so easy to find.
NoGuff 2 years ago
Oh come, come now you are a member of the Republican party. The party that is anti-gay because of the "bible", anti-condom because of the "bible", anit-drug coverage for birth control, abortion. The problem with small government conservatives is that they want to shrink the federal government just small enough to fit in our bedrooms. For the record I am libertarian not liberal. I would be happy if the government were tiny, after all if they can't agree on something they should just shut up.
NoirMusic 2 years ago
If you were truly Libertarian you wouldn't have a problem with my Conservative views & religious beliefs. Nor would you have such a negative view of Christianity.
And your assumptions are very wrong, & mostly just propaganda type phrases. "Anti-condom because of the Bible?" No. We're against condoms being handed out to children in schools. "Anti-drug coverage for birth control & abortion?" No, we're against GOVT paying for those. As a "Libertarian" you'd agree the govt isn't in that business.
NoGuff 2 years ago
Well since I AM a libertarian I think, perhaps, I am the best judge of what I believe. Conservatives seem to be confused with what their rights are and what other people's rights are. As a PARTY, I'll choose to not speak for you, the Republicans want to legislate what my wife can and can't do, what my kids can and can't do. What if I want the schools giving my daughter condoms and sex ed? No one is saying your child has to have it, but why can't mine? I want each family to have choices.
NoirMusic 2 years ago
"Well since I AM a libertarian I think, perhaps, I am the best judge of what I believe"
--My understanding of what a Libertarian is comes from an actual Libertarian, Larry Elder.
"I want each family to have choices"
--As do we. But let's at least agree that it's not the government's business or the school's business to distribute condoms to school children. No more than it is for them to teach children about "alternative" family structures and homosexuality.
NoGuff 2 years ago
I won't argue my political view with a fool. I said what I believe if you insist on saying that I am a liar and not ACTUALLY a libertarian then I think that just shows how narrow minded you are. Why do YOU get to decide what my kids learn? Who gave you that right? Tell me that. Why can't my 17 year old daughter get access to a condom when she has sex? Why does that impact YOUR life at all. For that matter why does Matt and Bob's sex life impact you, much less there marrige.
NoirMusic 2 years ago
"how narrow minded you are"
--No, it shows I know what I'm talking about, and/or that you're hiding something.
"Why do YOU get to decide what my kids learn?"
--Who gave you the right to force the children of other parents to hear about & accept homosexual relationships?
"access to a condom when she has sex"
--If that's the case then you're not a good parent. And if that's your attitude you're even worse than you seem.
"Why does that impact YOUR life"
--It impacts my family, nation, & culture.
NoGuff 2 years ago
LOL When did it become your culture? It's also the culture of the "fagots" you hate. It's also the culture of the liberals you hate. It's also the culture of the lying, sneaky, not-libertarians who agree with small government philosophy while despising your hate mongering. For that matter a Dem is office, a black one no less, don't look now...it appears it really isn't your culture anymore.
NoirMusic 2 years ago
"When did it become your culture?"
"isn't your culture anymore"
--Wow. You are the biggest idiot.

Rodman820,
How many Democrats "objected" when Ted Kennedy drowned poor Mary Jo Kopechne and then lied about it? Does that mean that all Democrats are murderers? Of course not. But if you (like the arrogant, deluded fool in this video) think the corruption on Capitol Hill is limited to the right side of the aisle, then you just might be a hopeless case.

Brad, you're a great actor. But politics takes a little somthing more. It takes a real thinker in addition to being educated on little things like, oh let's say, the electoral process.
Vertigo2002 4 years ago
Yes, it IS hate speech. "If only Democrats had the same contempt for the truth as our honorable friends across the aisle" is a sweeping, bigoted generalization which brands those "across the aisle" (read: Republicans) as dishonest. Is Ron Paul less honest than Bill Clinton?
If only life were as simple as "Democrats=good, Republicans=evil," we wouldn't have to think for ourselves, would we? We could just let Bradley Whitford do our thinking for us.

There really isn't a need for an electoral college at this point, but whatever. The initiative he's talking about isn't going to pass, but if it were then it would only be fair if every state had the same system. As is, it's just a sneaky way for Republicans to cheat - not that it makes much difference who's in the White House anyways.
darthafro 4 years ago
This is borderline hate speech. So this bigot thinks that all Republicans are gun-toting election-stealing rednecks who want to pollute the air, contaminate the water, and throw widows and orphans out on the street. Well, since he said quite plainly that his children couldn't afford to live under 4 more years of Republicans (and that was back in 2004), I assume he has left the country by now?
DSM1231 4 years ago
Whoops, I see this was actually posted this year! My mistake. Still, I would wager that after the upcoming Republican victory in 2008, his children will somehow manage to survive. I'm a liberal, but I don't go for this kind of fearmongering. A reasoned exchange of good ideas is called for.
DSM1231 4 years ago
I'm a conservative, but your absolutely right!
henry17hill 4 years ago
If you fail to object to the misdeeds of these leaders because, then you too have the same "contempt for the truth" and Mr. Whitfords's broad indictment is spot on.
If, however you objected to the dismissal of qualified, dedicated diplomats and staffers for having the nerve to object to his adolescent foreign policy, or the deliberate and systematic corruption of the House under Delay, or Bush's contradiction of constitutional principles, then we'd all apologize. But you didn't object, did you?
rodman820 4 years ago
In other words, those who hold different views than your own have "contempt for the truth." This is narrow-minded and anti-intellectual. How uncomplicated life would be if only the world were so black and white! And how dull!
dseanmat 4 years ago
I decried the lack of objection from Republicans to the abuses and lies of their leaders. I charged that those who failed to object had "contempt for the truth". Am I wrong?
DeLay tried to alter House ethics rules and deposed the committee chair for resisting. (Hefley) Bush ignored, then dismissed well-informed advisors and security experts for challenging his inept delusions. (Clark et al).
Your misdirection tact makes me think, maybe Whitford's indictment just hit too close to home?
rodman820 4 years ago
Maybe you don't know enough Republicans. I would be surprised if you have any friends who are Republicans, since you very conveniently (and narrowmindedly)assume that they are all dishonest, and are all in favor of corruption. Such simplemindedness ill-becomes any free-thinking adult. I am a liberal Democrat, but I don't blindly dismiss all those whose views differ from mine. Most sincere ideas deserve some degree of consideration from a thoughtful person.
dseanmat 4 years ago
I AM a Republican. Or was. What I saw around me was a group that wanted to win elections, advance their agenda and hold power - regardless of the tactics and compromises required, blinded by self righteousness and partisan zeal. Hefley was a republican as was Lincoln Chafee - I respect both for the stands they took, but they were in sparse company as DeLay cracked his whip and Bush made his threats.
How telling that you had to go all the way to Chappaquidick to find any comparison.
rodman820 4 years ago
Your own party affiliation is totally irrelevant to your simplistic "us versus them" view of society. I most certainly didn't have to go back to Chappaquiddick to make my point. I could have referred to the countless Clinton scandals, Barney Frank, Congressman Jefferson, Mosely Braun, or others on BOTH SIDES I could mention. Democrats "want to win elections, advance their agenda, or hold power" without regard to tactics or compromises, as much as Republicans. To feel otherwise is totally naive.
dseanmat 4 years ago
It was relevant enough that you brought it up. Now it's not?
I disagree though. It is relevant, as the rank and file of each party should hold their own representatives to a higher standard than the other, higher than what we see displayed by either party.
That said the Republicans of the current administration and the last congress pushed the boundaries farther than we'd seen since the days of Tammany Hall, and there was no outcry, no resistance from their supporters.
Which is the point.
rodman820 4 years ago
Your previous (alleged) affiliation with a different political party is irrelevant to your current simplistic view of politics. The very fact that you asserted that I "had" to go back to Chappaquiddick to cite an example of Democratic wrongdoing proves how uncritical your thinking is with regard to the party. Socrates admonished us to, "Question everything," not "Just question conservatism!" You don't need this frivolous Hollywood nitwit to do your thinking for you.

I have to give him credit as an actor. How he can sit there and keep a straight face while lying through his teeth is incredible. Does he really want to compare the tactics of the Republicans to those of the Democrats? The Republicans win because they have better IDEAS than the Democrats.
4951WEDDEL 4 years ago
Wed: the Dems won the presidential popular vote in 3 of the last 4 elections, have control of the House and Senate, control 28 governorships and the plurality of state legislatures. If, as you say, the best ideas win, then, at this point at least, you'd have to say the Dems have the best ideas. That's if you think winning and being right are always the same thing.
thucy2 4 years ago
Presidential elections are not won by popular vote however. Tell me what great ideas did the Democrats run on in 2006? I personally think the Republicans lost more than the Democrats won. When Republicans run on conservatism and actually follow through, they are unstoppable.
4951WEDDEL 4 years ago
Wed: yep, pres. elections are not won on the popular vote, which makes the US a peculiar sort of "democracy." And yes, the Repubs lost it in 2006, just like they lost it in 1932, which, except for a very brief time in the 1950s, is the last time they controlled the White House and both chambers of Congress at the same time. Hardly seem "unstoppable" to me.

When do we get Brad as the REAL Democratic political consultant in that REAL Democratic White House?
richarddjacobs 4 years ago
No doubt, he wrote a great script and nailed it.
Maybe he can be the first person on IMDB to list a 'Pollie' under the awards section.

"If only Democrats had the same contempt for the truth as our honorable friends from across the aisle. But let's face it, you can't out-hypocrite a Republican."
