no it was not banned as in banned for public.. it was only banned in theaters. This is because it was shown in a PG-13 rated film "Source Code" have noted that Hangover 2 is a rated R movie. It is a regulation of the MPAA that a film trailer can only be shown before a film of the same rating. That's the reason why Warner Bros pulled out the trailer in theaters. hope the big question is answered.

I can see how the storyline looks similar (they wake up w/no memory and discover that a bunch of crazy shit has happened to them and they have lost an important character). The shit that they are getting into in this movie look a whole new level of insane though (Alan shooting off an Uzi comes to mind).

I agree, it appears to be the same premise. I have been here before, all hyped to see a movie that did so well the first time around, only to find out it is the same idea. You can complain ahead of time or you can wait for the first round of movie goers to comment on the truth and then make your own decision to go see it or not. I honestly don't mind if it is the same type of story. I am sure it will be worth a few laughs and something to talk about on the ride home from the theater.
