"The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy the gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people; then shall we both deserve & enjoy it. While, on the other hand, if we are universally vicious & debauched in our manners, though the form of our Constitution carries the face of the most exalted freedom, we shall in reality be the most abject slaves" --Samuel Adams
Dont be ridiculous-you have been sold LIES-THere are HUNDREDS more of these. The FOUNDERS would be fit to be tied at the way that our Constitution has been twisted and beat and torn to shreds. When the founders signed the Declaration of Independence they meant it! Many paid 4 it w/their LIVES! - "We hold these truths 2B self evident, that ALL men R CREATED Equal, that they R endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, THAT AMONG these R LIFE, Liberty & the pursuit of Happiness"
As a Christian, I suspect these are words carefully culled from speeches and writings and are hardly spontaneous. I was a land of Anglicans, not Christian Evangelists.
