  • "My children go to comprehensive school...so they don't know how to read either!"

  • Great to see they never lost their genius!!!

  • when was this made?

  • @albertusj did you reall just ask that question?

  • @sargentaaron2004 I can't seem to send a link but just type in "John Cleese, Ronnie barker & Ronnie Corbett. I know my place.avi" and it's the first thing that comes up. :)

  • Nobody has to put up with global warming. It doesn't exist.

  • @fjccommish I think it's pretty much conclusive that Global Warming/Climate Change is happening... it's the human influence that I very much doubt.

  • @mrface19 "Think" doesn't create truth or facts. The fact is average global temps have slightly decreased over the last century.

  • @fjccommish Uh... what? The Climate Change Research Team at the UEA finished a study about six months ago which says they've risen by a significant amount. Where exactly are you getting your data from? If you're going to make a claim like that, back it up.

  • Wasn't there a similar sketch with the two ronnies and John Cleese, and they were talking about class? Anyone link me to that?

  • @sargentaaron2004 It was from "The Frost Report". I can't seem to find it on Youtube at the moment though.

  • two ronnies AND stephen fry? Gordon Bennett comedy nirvana!

  • why cant i find the version with john cleese?

  • @albertjester It's under "Class Sketch - The Frost Report." I'll send you a link.

  • Ahhh. Stephen Fry along with two Ronnies. Doesn't get much better.

  • I encourage Education I teach my Children to read!

My Children don't have a School so they can't read

My Children go to Comprehensive School so they can't read either! XD

  • 2 people are smelly, ignorant serfs.

  • 2 people are smell, ignorant serfs.

  • English humor at its best Brill

  • I think it might have been better to say "I hate the French because the beat us in 1966." It fits in a bit better after 1066.

  • Really excellent ... I think Ronnie Barker is better than Ronnie Corbett but not as good as Stephen fry !!!

  • OMG this is wonderful.

  • Its missing one thing

    "I know my place"

  • Two people don't like this? PEASANTS!!!

  • @ezreader111 no, they are, as medieval man would say "smelly, ignorant serfs"

  • @neodarlek I can't believe I gave you a straight line. Nice.

  • Parkinson says in the intro 'The reunion of two men who made the world laugh more than anyone with the name Ronnie' He didn't need to add 'with the name Ronnie'!

  • "I'm New Labour, so I don't believe in anything."

    and

"My children go to comprehensive school, so they can't read either."

may be the two greatest quotes in the history of comedy.

  • Ps not jokeing ha ha

  • I hate the French aswell

  • GREAT stuff... If I'm not mistaken, the sketch was written by Ronnie Barker. One of England's National Treasures.

  • soooooooo damn funny

  • I just hate the french I DON'T NEED A REASON

    Well....WHO DOES?

    ONLY JOKING. :)

  • I know Stephen Fry is in this but who are the other two

  • @EskimoErica Seriously? It says in the Intro from Parky, they are the Two Ronnies, Ronnie Corbett and Ronnie Barker. British Comedy greats!

  • Ronnie Colbert as Baldrick

  • Before there was John Cleese, who is in a class of his own; Stephen is small FRY.

Stephen lives with an obsession against the Cathloic Church.

  • @dennispace007 Cleese rather invented Fry - but Stephen is aware of that, and grateful for it. As for an obsession against the Catholic Church, I believe a lot of former alterboys have the same problem.

  • Quite aside from the comedic genius, this sketch is a mater-class in reacting to the audience and timing a gag.

  • Who wrote this sketch?

  • @richardcavell Considering the content, probably Ronnie Barker.

  • "I Have a Pig"

  • @ohhrichie "although i don't know how to work it"

  • I had this on tape once, from BBC America. (Might still, actually.) There was a joke about being malnourished, and Stephen Fry says 'My children eat Pop Tarts, so they're malnourished, too.' They must have cut it for time.

  • I work as a weaver. For that reason, I'm called Mr Weaver.

I am a miller, so I'm called Mr Miller.

    My name's Ramsbottom...so I'm called sir.

    LOL!

  • @gokolink You are right, I'm not much of a football fan.

  • this is brilliant. Ronnie Barker is a legend

  • I have a pig... although I don't know how to work it.

    Classic. Comedy. Genius.

  • THought you might enjoy this...takes you back

  • class system

  • When Stephen Fry says that the French beat England in 1998, he was referring to the 1998 Summer Olympics in which France was the host country.

  • @MColeProductions you mean the fifa world cup?

  • @MColeProductions Also, there were no 1998 Summer Olympics and the Winter ones were in Japan.

  • @torterrakills WORLD CUP! S'Football what matters!!!

  • I just hate the French, I don't need a reason.

He's right, some things never change.

  • 3:01 "I just hate the French, I don't need a reason"

  • lol i didn't know they did this, i've seen the one with john cleese before & i really like this one too :D

  • I just love how Stephen Fry and Ronnie Baker tried not to laugh when Ronnie Corbett said he was 23 lol.

    Anyways to the quotes:

"I work as a weaver, for that reason I'm called Mr Weaver"

"I am a miller, so I'm called me Mr Miller"

"My names Ramsbottom, so I'm called me Sir"

  • This was based on the Frost report sketch on class and so the similarity is that you have the two ronnies and 3 men standing describing themselves- their lives in history rather than their class lives. Michael Foot was from the dark Ages tho! :)

  • Wasn't this sketch originally broadcast as part of the multi-ensemble one-off sketch show Complete and Utter History of Everything, starring the cream of several generations of British comedy?

  • Nope, it was from the Frost Report waaaaay back in black and white lol

  • Really? It's amazing what remastering does to John Cleese isn't it?

(Just to make sure for you gullible people, I am joking.)

  • Lol =D

  • Brilliant.

  • Legends!

  • Stehpen Fry is better than most but they still should have got John Cleese to take his original place =D

  • They probably asked. Most likely he was just too busy. Stephen Fry is the best possible replacement though.

  • I agree. Stephen was a pretty good replacement for John Cleese in this. I couldn't have imagined anyone else taking John's place.

  • Ronnie Barker looks like Micheal Foot there.

  • I wish they'd done the original one too with Stephen.

  • Same here...

Oh, I just realised that when they did the original sketch, Stephen was ten years old... :D

  • im 22 born in 86 andihave to say the to ronnies are amazin for the day TO day and ANY day funny always but i have to say i love porridge to agree?

  • Rofl, if only they could've got John Cleese again but Stephen Fry rocks! Anyone else agree that Stephen Fry sounds a bit like Terry Wogan?

  • EPIC !!! lol

  • "My children go to comprehensive school...So they can't read either." < HILARIOUS

  • I'm new Labour so I don't believe on anything. Priceless, timless, gold.

  • @ednuttah The labor party in Australia just held it's latest review of why no ones bothering anymore, funny not a single policy matter was addressed at all. I guess just like new labour in the UK actually being a 'social democrat" might require independent thought. I advise a quick trip across to France and see how their Socialist party is doing things

  • @franks2732 Are doing things not is doing things. I think France has its own troubles regardless of political parties in charge. They have just raised retirement age and cut public services and look what happened. The French are even "redder" than we are in the UK. The only country to really avoid the mess and weren't in the east was Canada, they didn't bank on the banks....... a very wise manoeuvre.

  • omg great matirial :d

  • I'm tempted to come over all Terry Jones and point out how unfair this is to the Middle Ages - but I'm laughing too much!

  • I think the sun goes to bed at night.

I think the sun revolves around the Earth.

I think the sun shines out of my trousers.

  • Great take on the Class sketch

    Nice one

  • Whoever he is? ahahahahahahahha

  • I have a pig, although i dont know how to use it. That's funny

  • ha ha i'm new labour... haha funny stuff!!

  • I bet Stephen got a real kick out of that.

  • "I just hate the french, I don't need a reason."

  • What is a "New Barrett's Estate"? A failed housing project?

  • Barratts are a construction company known for buying up huge swathes of land and building fancy modern housing on them.

The houses aren't bad but they are often joked about as being quickly put up and of poor quality.

  • Thanks for answering my question.

  • We call those McMansions in the US.

  • Who was the last person that they mention?

  • Carol Vaudermon - the woman from Countdown.

  • Who appears everywhere on TV... you can't escape from her!

  • you can now, but not in the year 2000

  • This was wonderful. Thank you for putting this up.

  • Much as I love Stephen Fry and all his works I bet it was an absolute honour for him to work with the Two Ronnies.

  • Does anyone know the name of the presenter? Thanks.

  • Sir Michael Parkinson

  • this sketch is the best i've seen in a long while (Best modern day sketch that is)

  • Classic to the end. Three great comedians all suited to their parts.

  • pure gold

  • that was so funny. i just lold

  • comedy gold!!!!

  • i personally think ronnie barker was deprived of punch-lines throughout this sketch, but still, they were all awesome!

  • I think having a straight man in the middle is necessary for the sketch to work

  • fair enough

  • I meant straight man in comic terms, not in terms of sexuality.

  • nope straight n married! both ronnies were straight

  • My favorite lines:

"I have one day off a week when I go to Church. But I must admit the pig bladders thing sounds much more fun."

    "I just the French. I don't a reason."

    "I'm a smelly ignorant serf."

  • I'm New Labour...so I don't believe in anything! Love it!!!

  • I've only seen segments of the classic Frost Report sketch, but thanks to YouTube I can see the updated reworking first, then the original. Absolutely brilliant!

  • Never seen it - brilliant! And this time, it was Ronnie B (rather than Ronnie C) who was doing his best not to laugh ...

  • Nice to see Ronnie Barker enjoying himself... can't stop himself laughing.

  • And at least this time, everyone gets good punchlines

  • couldn't ask for more

  • A nice rework of the original Frost Report Sketch with John Cleese.

    Very funny.

  • Thank you SOOO much I have been looking for this clip since I saw it during the Millennium Celebrations in London!!!

    THANKS!!

  • Excellent

  • 3 geniuses all together! love!
