i´ll be in koh tao soon! i´m little worried because of an article i´ve read about jellyfish in these waters...does anyone know if there are many jellyfish at koh tao beaches??

@johnsalchijohn ive seen jellyfish all over thailand but usually in deeper water when snorkelling or diving. never seen any near the beach. better to keep your eyes open though!!!

@chartshorn44 if you rent a motorbike, rent it in mae haad (about 150m from the piere up the "main street"- right hand side, opposite a small caffee) the guy is really nice and did never charge anything for fixing the bikes! others hold back your deposit (5000baht) for just a couple of scratches. that can mess up your holidays!

Unless you're diving Koh Tao really is an absolute shit hole! Beaches are crap, it's ridiculously touristy and jesus christ monkey balls - DO NOT hire a motorbike out. :(

OMG ! This is what I meant by heavenly. Look at how everything blends in so naturally...I found no flaws...well...except for the odd coloured chalets at 5:45 and the barbecue bar being so close to the water (it will spoil the beach soon !)

The rest of ASEAN countries should take a note of this...the real way a resort should be maintained. NATURE at its best.

thanks for the vid... ko tao is so amazing relaxing!!! i was there twice in 1992 and 1993 - we stayed for weeks and weeks on the little hill at "Talung's resort" - just passing time. Wonder if he's still there - does anybody know?

I´ve been there in 93 and 94 as well and I spent some very relaxed months in Sai Ree Village (17 coconutwooden bungalows and a generator which provided elecricity for 4 hours a day...like paradise) on this beautiful spot on earth just diving, eating, drinking, smoking and...and...and somethimg else. But I heard cruel stories from a working mate, who stayed there in 2004. Well...it changed a bit.

I have been there.. Damn i miss it so much :) The diving were good but i think you have to go scubadive if you wanna find the really nice corals. Other than that I love the people and the food. Its not like all the other places like Krabi and pukhet. I would recomand it wery much it takes a wery long time to get there. I live in Sweden so it took like 20 Hrs the whole jurney i think. But its worth it. Sorry for all the bad spelling hope you understand me anyhow :)
