Going to see them in 4 days. Can't wait. And for those who have never been and are planning on it here's a tip: Don't drink before the show and go to the bathroom before hand. They don't do intermissions
TSO needs to finally make a live concert DVD. It's too long coming.
The first time I saw them was at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Their show has grown so big now I almost don't like it anymore (really, I do). It's just that it was incredible to see them without all that huge stage setup and pyrotechnics in such a venue as the Ryman. They even came out into the audience while they were performing. It was such an intimate performance. I would kill for that again.
Huge TSO fan......have seen them MANY times in concert......and have TRIED filming....IMHO...YOU did one awesome job on this.....TY very much for sharing!!!
why do you need menus? did you have a menu at the beginning of the concert? It's a concert, not a movie.. no menu needed.. not like there will be a bloopers reel and commentary.. this is great footage, plain and simple
The band is Savatage. Pitrelli did play in Megadeth for a couple years. The drummer was also in Metal Church. But they are the current Savatage lineup.
@macc300 The song is called "The Mountain" from their album "Night Castle". it's also known as "Prelude To Madness" on the Savatage album "Hall Of The Mountain King"
Why should I email you for more info? Unless of course you want to try and sell me an unauthorized recording?
If I want DVD's like this, they're likely already available for FREE AND WITHOUT CHARGE at sites like THE TRADERS DEN and DIMEADOZEN. (And from the look of things, you like to download things from those sites and sell them. That's illegal, by the way...)
Remember Folks - Don't be a sucker. NEVER PAY FOR YOUR LIVE CONCERT DVD'S!!!!
(By the way - It's "your", not "you're", genius...)
Forgive me, but isn't this song actually "The Mountain" from their album "Nightcastle" --- disk 1, number 4? I can swear it is, I have been playing that song compared to this one and it is the same......
Great filming job NYCBC! I got this full concert and the others you have filmed of TSO. You do an outstanding job of capturing the whole show and whole band with your wide angle shots; this is how all videos should be filmed. I don't want to watch a boring close-up of somebody's face for 2 hours. Keep up the good work ( and don't listen to those criticizing your camera work).
Its a shame he doesnt know how to author DVD's very well. If he had given his master to someone who knows what they are doing he could have had a MUCH better product and probably could have sold even MORE!!. But people would rather wait for a revamp with menu's and proper audio. No menu's and the audio is pathetic. I agree he does good camera work. Not great but good. Not enough closeups too much wide angle.
@NYCBC To be fair on that response, thetageguy hasn't gotten the oportunity to film TSO, and just because he hasn't gotten the chance too doesn't mean that he would have done it any better or worse, but simply hasn't had the chance and probably won't (no offense)
@NYCBC I think you did a great job. It's very difficult to film a TSO show, blinding lights one second, dark the next and laser the next. Lots happening on stage every minute.
You should see my shots of TSO. On second thought no you shouldn't!!
I saw it live yesterday in the 6th floor seat omg it rocked my chest was beating

@LlamaGurlPc No they don't. Their long heir fits the rock spectacle they put on. They're rock stars. They don't give a damn about your short hair.

Isn't against the law to sell unauthorized recordings in NYC?
It sure would be a shame if anyone contacted the authorities in regards to potential copyright infringement...
