when i was a youngster i loved the bond films for the action and gadgets.when i was a teenager i loved them for the gorgeous women and now i'm middle aged i finally appreciate the truly wonderful music, thanks for sharing.
John Barry is my favourite film music composer for many years and i think it will not change until I die. This track is so special for me because I have quite an unusual habit...Every time I travel to my vacation place, for instance - somewhere in south europe, or wherever else - when my plane is starting I listen to this absolutely outlandish and angelic or heaven-like-sounded composition. The same feeling I have with monstruous Flight Into Space which is my second theme played in airplane.
This track has stuck in my imagination for years. It's so full of Romantic Glamour, like one long personification of all the Gorgeous things in- and out of- this World.
Moonraker may be incredibly Cheesy, but this track is Incredible.
There will never be another like him. His music was 'The' music of Bond and defined a whole era of film making. He set the bar so high few will ever be able to reach it. This particular piece is beautiful beyond words and just makes you feel like floating away.
I've watched films with his music since i was 9, and to this day the impact is as powerful as ever.
He was one of a kind
Thank you John Barry and may your music live forever
Absolutely beautiful, gorgeous and elegant film score music by the brilliant John Barry. This particular passage nearly brings me to tears every time I listen. This is why I love symphonic film soundtrack music so much. "Moonraker" is my favorite of the Roger Moore Bond flicks. Great stuff. Love it.
As with most films the music helps makes them what they are. I love the soundtracks for bond films. When (some) people watch these films the music is just playing along with the images and its not until you just listen to the music without the film that it hits home how important a great soundtrack is in the making of a good film. Ennio Morricone leaps to mind! ;-)
Women were so beautiful back then. They never tried to look a day younger then they were and yet they remained so gorgeous and youthful looking. Take note trashy female "celebs" of today!
If music was played in heaven it would sound like this. Another fine example of John Barry at his haunting best, lush strings, lavish arrangments and all for a short scene lasting 2 minutes. Right up there with the majestic 'Space March' piece in 'You Only Live Twice'.

This piece is just on another level, John Barry at his haunting best, right up there with Space March (You Only Live Twice) and some of the work done on OHMSS (Best Bond soundtrack ever)

what a beautiful amazing song! sounds almost celestial or otherworldly, which i guess is fitting for the theme of Moonraker. probably the best 007 film too.
Gorgeous music and what I consider to be Barry's most beautiful piece amongst his Bond compositions. As for the girls, I liked them all but my favorite 3 were the redhead, the "Blonde Beauty" that lured Bond to the pyramid, and the absolutely luscious Corrine Cleary in the top spot. Man, she was some dish! Thanks for posting!
Hey Gqlicious which one of these hot birds would you go for? I'd pick the blonde one who gives Bond the slight head nod as he enters Drax's pyramid. Although on these pics she looks like she's cross eyes and much less attractive. The red hair one is very nice indeed. mmmmhmmmm :D ha
Thanks a lot. So far I have Moonraker, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Quantum Of Solace, and a Bond complelation on cd. On Her Majesty's Secret Service and The Spy Who Loved Me are the only ones I have on cassette. Not too fimilar on mp3's yet. Be on the lookout for more 007 tributes in the near future.
Not my favorite Bond film, but the music is soooo amazing!

This music is so beautiful and moving. Mohandas Ghandi must have heard this music on his way to heaven.

I love this music but the most moving piece for me up to now is the 'John Dunbar Theme' from Dances with Wolves.

The John Dunbar theme is the one that does it for me, although all of these are lovely.

Indeed it would. That's a great observation and you described the music perfectly.

It's funny, as there is no woman in the world, let alone the bond films, who is as beautiful as this piece.

I had the LP when I was a teen and had this one "burned" to a cassette which I wore out. Awesome tune! Thanks!

I don't know. I watch this film repeatedly and it sounds exactly like the one used during the scene.
