His saving grace on that play was his range although most refs would still call that for the wind up he took and the fact that the puck was already played.

"at his discretion" being the main point. So in fairness, yeah, you can be called for elbowing for an elbow to the chest, but only if it is deemed violent. This was hardly violent, it was to get him off the puck.

Under that pressure Crosby was able to stay composed and take a good shot. Don't take anything away from the goal of a lifetime thats just being stupid...And yea sure in the Olympics Ovechkin had more goals but what place did they finish? thats what I thought. You have to be able to score and win when it comes down to the big pressure situations.

Ovechkin is a really good player but since his team hasn't been as successful as the Penguins and Crosby there has to be something missing, and i think that missing quality is team work and respect.
