He's just stating facts, afaik Loeb is one of the most fair-play drivers I've seen, never seen him look down on anyone but doesnt mean he can't just state facts either.

Plus, he said he's used to starting the season with a victory and he hopes it goes on, how is that not true.

Group b drivers were the ultimate in my opionion, the sheer power of they cars and the skill it took to drive them separated they drivers from any other era i think. The foot skill is also a thing of the past now with the modern gearboxes. why is it that technology seems to take away some of the skill in many sports ie, rallying, formula one. Modern wrc is just not in the same league as the group b 1980s. You wouldnt get one driver winning five titles in a row back then, far harder era.

WRC is now the dullest incarnation of rallying that one could be unfortunate enough to watch.

For real rallying look up RAC 1986, or for that matter any of the World Championship rallies pre 1987, or even any rally pre 1987.

Group B rallying was the best.

Plus Loeb competed against Gronholm and Solberg when they both were at their best, and world champions.

While I agree, I don't think he would have come out as many wins if Subaru and Ford both pumped as much money into the teams and cars as Citroen did. Lets face it, the Focus and Impreza are not as good as the Citroen is. Great driver mixed with a perfect car makes him the best.

pripiat95 - look at the drivers McRae was up against to compare with the ones Loeb is now up against Mikko Hirvonen is the only one challenging Loeb at the moment whereas McRae had the likes of Carlos Sainz, Tommi Makinen to compete with.

You are right and what did he acheive? One championship!so we can't really say he was that good. Makinen was something else, the thing is that you could say that Makinen managed 4 titles because the drivers competing against him were average (Sainz, Mc Rae..). You are doing the same with Loeb. Don't compare loeb to Mc Rae, compare him to winners like Makinen or Kankhunen (legends).
