Cher recorded the song 1st in 1966 - it was written by Sonny Bono. Nancy Sinatra recorded it later 1968 I think - around then. Nancy Sinatra's is the one used in Kill Bill that a lot of people think is the original. Its not. Cher's is. This version by Cher was recorded I think in the 1980's

It's a good song, whether by Nancy Sinatra or Cher; and obviously, very versatile. The slow version is almost heart wrenching, while this rock version is like angry sad.

"Shot me down" is originally by Cher, but this isn't the original version. She redid it. The original she did was in the 60's, of which Nancy did a cover of. Well the original is by Cher indeed but the 1966 original is completely different from this version, so no, this version is not the original. I prefer Nancy's cover too, but for a real treat, look up Elie Dupuis' French cover.
