I think they decided it was started from a trash pile burning that everyone thought was out...it wasn't and caught back up a few days later while no one was around.
It was a mess. We were here for Hugo too...was much different...Hugo was here and gone and left all that destruction....this took days...both were really awful though.
Was certainly an experience...I'm glad no one was hurt.
at 11pm...85% contained ...threat is greatly diminished...hopefully completely contained by Monday. 19,500 acres burned, 75 homes destroyed, 88 damaged.. damage est 15.4 million NO injuries or fatalities at all!
I think someone was burning some brush last Saturday. They thought the fire was out but it lay dormant for several days before popping back up and spreading fast.
Thanks for posting.. this is so sad. I was in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday the day it started. I checked out at 11:00 just about an hour before the blaze began.
I had just left my grandmas house on stonegate drive in barefoot resort 2 days before this happened. Scary shit

zeester09, that's just a drop in the bucket compared to what hell will be like; can you imagine . . .

Even if it is Lulu4Him, its still a fraction of what hell "might" look like.

Man...the sheer magnitude of that is just mind-boggling.

dogzrulelove...according to the press there has been no injuries...but if you know something first hand perhaps you should share it with them.
I don't know what you mean by "So ha" ...sounds like you were trying to be mean...what's up with that?

time to build a FIREPROOF HOME and have a real fire department, not buckets and garden hoses like they have now..
.
.they should be called the fire watching department.....
we need a fleet of 747 size water tankers and a lot of water carrying helicopters in conjunction with a stronger ground attack force....
.same price as now when lives and property damage is added
