  • Amzing!

  • This is really good. Nice end result. Brilliant colors!

  • i feel like the beak could have been a tad bit darker. not tryin to be a hater. the color is great on everything else, but the beak just feels too neutral.

  • @ojon12389 no that's okay. Thanks!

  • Truly Amazing

  • I love your drawings:) could you do more tutorials on using prismacolor pencils and some tips and tricks? Because im wanting to order some and i have no idea how to make beautiful looks with colored pencils. Ive never been in an art class, im all self taught. I want to make really nice/bright drawings using prismacolor

  • hey nice drawing:), what kind of colored paper are you using?

  • Please do a tutorial on coloring grass, hair, and wood.

  • Can you teach how to draw people?

  • FAKE this is a photo and he edited it on pc or something :D

  • Because coloured pencil is a translucent medium, you will almost always want to work from dark to light.

  • @RideHanna The exact opposite is true. Always work from light to dark. Never an exception. Dark over light is the only way to create accurate shading and blending.

  • That is amazing... I never get my drawing to be realistic.... they are okk but I feel like I am missing something

  • Amazing

  • Wow

  • what type of prismacolor ? verithin,etc...?

  • You sound ver young and very talented!

  • i love how young this kid is

  • that's...really good...

  • i love prismas.

they blend so well and stay so bright!

  • Common people she never said that "This is a tutorial". Keep up the great work cocohotpix, I can only hope that someday I will be this good!!!

  • @TheGestaltis i tell this to people everyday.. this is not a tutorial. It doesn't say tutorial. If u search the internet you could never find how to be the perfect artist. These are tips and things I've learned over the years... no one can completely learn how to be an artist from someone else.. But i give time in the day to try.. with my videoS.

  • @CocoHotpix At the end it says Subscribe for more tutorials. This implies this was a tutorial. Just pointing this out, not trying to start anything. Beautiful drawing though.

  • @CocoHotpix I liked the video and I understand what you're saying about just giving tips that you've learned, but it actually does say tutorial at the end.... just sayin :)

  • @CocoHotpix It does actually say tutorial. At the end it says 'Subscribe for more tutorials'

    Bam.

  • you are so talented. i really have trouble with shading. i practive so hard, but i just cant seem to get the hang of it like you do. could you gice me a few tips???

  • @darkrose12354 Thanks for watching. In regards to shading.. (i hope you mean creating shadows and the low lights on the object your painting.) I add (lightly) a darker color of the color I'm using and add blue or brown and for a dark shadow black or navy blue. I make shadows usually by lightly coloring with those colors. Layering these colors till I get the look I like. Practice by coloring a sphere.. make the highlights and low lights.. in a color of your choice. -JP

  • Just bought some Prisma's after hearing about them alot recently..... probably the best thing I've ever spent money on, and I've bought alot of stuff!

  • @SmashBabington so glad you liked them!!!!!!!

  • @SmashBabington Prismacolors are the finest quality; more expensive, but worth the investment. I buy my Prismacolors in individual pencil colors, often 6 1-dozen boxes at a time. As I work exclusively in the drawing medium, I probably keep in stock around 4,000 Prismacolors, and around 1,500 Verithins (the hard lead pencils manufactured by Prismacolor). The color saturation is excellent, and the lightfastness for most of the colors is very good. Supports? Paper, Bristol vellum, illus. board.

  • @cosg9531 Thank you for the info, especially the paper to use.... I've obviously only just got them so all the tips I can get are very welcome!

I'm going to be investing in the colourless blender soon too!

  • are you using pastel pencils as well?

  • @Yout00ber1 no. just pris. pencils. thanks.

  • @CocoHotpix Oh right, becuase at 0:40 onwards the colour has such a soft, smooth appearance. It is the brand of pencils or just the camera? I've got a set of Caran D'ache Luminanace pencils (becuase they don't supply prismacolors in the UK :( and I don't think I can get the same effect.

  • ive been hearing alot about prismacolor as an ideal colored pencil tool.

is it the best of the best?

    and do you recomend it?

  • @gramamas It truly is the best.

  • You left a lot out of your video. Like... what pencils are you using? What kind of paper are you using? Textured? smooth?

  • @keter1234 prismacolor colored pencils. Matte Board. Smooth. Thanks for watching

  • how did you learn to be so good?

when doing realistic drawings, do you look at a picture because that would be hard to get the perfect shape and color blendings without one :)

  • @randomness32999 I had a picture.. but it was of blue parrot.. I manly used it to learn where the values are (dark and lights)

  • @CocoHotpix cool, sometimes i shade and do different values but i don't do it very good, sometimes

  • beautiful! I love it

  • wow i love it! i will try to paint like you :D this video really helped <3 thank you

  • this is realy good and can u make a vid about how to make parakeets?thx

  • @gillyny obviously the title does not say tutorial.. its only supposed to help new ones and intermediate colored pencil artists.. which can be a challenging medium to learn and to teach. Are you a colored pencil artist? If so I'm sorry you did not learn... and if your not this video may be hard to understand. A way to learn more is to look at some of my other videos which help fill in more of the pieces... my subscribers watch my videos weekly learning more and more every week. thank you.

  • @gillyny If you did not learn nothing, then you've learnt something...win, win situation. That's a double negative! See, you've also learnt something new (Grammar)? You know, when some of us finally reach the gates of heaven, and St Pete asks us what we've done with our lives to gain entry (Hypothetically Speaking) It's going to be pretty tough explaining that we've done nothing with our lives, other than criticize what other people have done with theirs. Keep up the good work CocoHotpix

  • @gillyny Well now that's just mean

  • @gillyny She/he did not call it a tutorial >.> lol

  • what kind of papers do you use? i've tried blending with these to no avail, the only thing I could blend even remotely well on was wood... with paper it gets waxy and smears too much?

  • @cryptidsaurian This is the #1 most asked question. This is matte board. You can buy it in big pieces at most art craft stores. Or even go to a frame shop and they have extra pieces you can have. Matte board usually goes around your painting but in this case its your paper! About blending all I can say is practice and I'm going to upload a video next week about blending. So plz subscribe!

    Thanks for watching.

  • man you very good...

  • So you didn't use any turpenoid?

  • @jenhrocks no.

  • i want u to draw me but the only thing ima wear is my blue diamond necklace lol

  • wow this is so good!!!! you have a god-given talent!

  • how old r u?

  • I gotta get my hands on some of these prisma color pencils. I have seen way too many people use them and they just seem to produce amazing results. Great Video

  • @TylersArtShack all you need is the time and the tools! and these videos thanks for watching!

  • can you draw on regular paper

  • @OSKOOLPIMP12 yes I hope to add more videos in the future of different papers and pencils.

  • amazing work hun<33 what are you drawing on?

  • @dummaaae This is the #1 most asked question. This matte board. You can buy it in big pieces at most art craft stores. Or even go to a frame shop and they have extra pieces you can have. Matte board usually goes around your painting but in this case its your paper!

    Thanks for watching.

  • how hard do you press on the paper when your coloring?

  • @Ronson1324 not very hard.. but I press a little harder at the very end to burn (or blend) everything in.

  • @CocoHotpix im not using prismacolor, and my colored pencils arent vibrant, even if i press as hard as i can, it always looks a little faded. how do u get them to be that way? do they have to be prismacolor?

  • @1BloodyRoar1 I think the problem your having is not using Prismacolor.. when I color with pris. the colors are so vibrant!! Especially poppy red and canary yellow.. they just come out SO vibrant! I was coloring with a friend and her pencils seemed faded too.. they were a brand I've never heard of. Go to your local craft or art store and buy some Pris. pencils.. they're only $1.45 a pencil. Thanks for watching!

  • @CocoHotpix o.o thanks for the quick reply, im trying to make something as colorful as the parrot

  • @1BloodyRoar1 Prismacolors are the finest quality, but they are expensive. Well worth the investment, however.

  • That was ... amazing

    You should draw other birds

  • wow thats some skill!

  • you are awesome - what a great pic

  • @Libraa89 Yeah and colored paper (if it goes well with what your drawing) almost always makes your art look better. Remember to I color pencil lightly on the paper then after a while I press a little harder to burn everything in. The beak in this picture is very lightly colored in. This tip can also make your color pencil drawing look more "pro". Of course this is all up to you! You are the artist!

  • @CocoHotpix Oh ,Thank you very much ;)

  • what kind of paper is that?

  • @Libraa89 Its not really paper its matte board. You know the stuff that usually goes around your art in a picture frame? I go down to my local art store (or frame shop for extra little pieces) go to where the frames are or ask for matte board they come in big pieces... theres plenty of color to choose from and several textures (I always choose the smooth texture) But its not all that weird several famous Pencil artists use matte board. For example Kate Lagaly. Ok thanks for watching! -JP

  • wow man i wish i could do this like you, i can draw some weird shit and thats about all xD

  • Thumbs up!

    I love birds(:

  • this is a beautiful portrait!

  • one word: beautiful!

p.s.: what paper/surface are you drawing this on?

  • @atownsuga Its not really paper its matte board.
