I saw CEM cab car #638 out for display at Union Station last Saturday for National Train Day. So when these get put into service, will the Bombardier Bi-Level Cab Cars be pulled from service so they can be outfitted with the CEM technology?

These are nicer looking than the bent-top-bizarro cars typical on most commuter trains today, these look like a Superliner was blended with a Genesis nose cone. Amtrack should get these to run with the Surfliners, that aero-cone nose would be safer and more aerodynamic than those fugly Super cab car's that have all the style and effeciency of a concrete cinderblock.

@simhopp Yes. We have 117 in order. These are the first 2 for us. The SEPTA cars that came in the same shipment do not have the CEM technology.

@AMTK510 Good comment! I don't like them either. This sounds harsh, but i wish they would have accidently dropped every car in the water. These cars are a disgrace to American railroading! I truly am not a big fan of Metrolink. They do need to make better decissions. If Metrolink is that worried about another crash happening, they should work to prevent it from happening again. Not help reduce the damage in a crash. Metrolink is the only commuter railroad i know of that's had at least one crash.
