JUST cause its been called hopelandic (I hate labels) doesnt mean there is NO meaning in this song. There ARE lyrics written and they are of this planet so they do mean a lot as opposed to having no meaning! Give Jonsi some credit. I doubt what hes singing from within is meaningless. Now the WORDS can be interpreted however but there is a ton of meaning in what hes singing so beautifully.
heir name is Icelandic wordplay: while the individual words Sigur and Rós mean, respectively, Victory and Rose, "Victory Rose" wouldn't be grammatically correct; the name is actually borrowed from Jónsi's younger sister Sigurrós, who was born the same day as the band was formed, and then split into two words. Hopelandic is Sigur Ros. ... Gibberish? Not really.
@blibliblublo because he's using his right hand for the bass drum.. instead of playing it with the pedal, because the sound would be too "powerful"... so he uses his hand.. ;)
I just found about this group of musicians and am so impressed and glad that I did. I came across Heima one late night on the Sundance Channel or IFC and needless to say there was no sleep for me that night and I greeted the dawn with a welcoming, fat smile.

Why does he play drums with only one hand ?
blibliblublo 2 years ago
He's hitting the base-drum with the other hand (playing it with a brush instead of the pedal) ;)

Whats the point in playing with two hands if you only got 1 note every 2-3 seconds...? =)

There's no meaning in it. Just gibberish. With Sigur Ros the beauty lies in the music
