  • it can handle alot more than 9psi the vq35de has all forged internals stock, powerlabs makes a gt35 kit for it at 12psi easily 450whp

  • nicely done but should have kept the engine bay the original color, now im after a rb25det neo in my 240sx its a turbo with 280hp but the vq35de is a non turbo with 300hp so hard to decide

  • Oh this was a temporary rattle can job. lol Just made it look a little more presentable. Personally I'm not a fan of doing what everyone else does... (ahem... SR20's) but we all have our own like and budgets. I'd suggest a VQ as replacement engines are easy to come by if you ever needed one. Parts are available as long as you know what year to tell autozone people lol. VQ's can only handle up to 9psi safely on stock internals, more than that you'll bend a rod. If you can find a rev-up get it.

  • It's actually a custom lower harness but it's mostly a 240sx harness. I gotta check if it's the upper or lower harness that plugs into the alternator.

There is a fpr installed but not shown this sends fuel back to the tank through the stock return line. Good questions. Wiring could be easier if it wasn't a street car but rather just a track car.

  • do you have a return fuel line?

did you uesd the vq35de stater and alternator harness?

  • So the hood slightly rests on the throttle body. I removed a section of the hood skeleton... thats it. Probably just need some spacers on the hinges. Just have to make the exhaust now and get my gauges working. then off to inspection. dun dun ...duuunnnnnn.

  • Oh and guess what. ZFever even included an OBD2 port when they did the harness conversion. I intend on going through state inspection with it when I'm done. Hopefully I'll pass but If I do that's REALLY good news for those S14 guys from 96+ runnin OBD2. F-them SR20's and paying for inspection stickers. :-) VQ35DE FTW! I'll post another comment with my results when I get them.

  • i hope u didnt forget to get a bigger fuel filter lol and how did the hood come down was there enough clearance or did you have to modify

  • Yeah I'm running the z32 filter. :-) I still have to modify the hood for clearance. Some of the skeleton has to come out and spacers gotta go on the hinges. Personally I want to make my hood close without using spacers on the hinges. I'm thinking a custom cowl. I hate the winter so it'll probably wait unless I get antsy.

  • about how much did everything add up to and how hard was the swap

  • Well to be honest I got a killer deal on the engine, trans, ecu, and harness... But, the entire swap probably cost me about $3,500. And I still need gauge signal converters, a J30 rear, and a custom Y pipe for the exhaust. If I didn't get the engine package at a steal... I would have probably did an RB25det swap instead. SR's are boring.

  • What year motor do you have? and congrats,

  • It's an 05 350z with the CD008 6speed transmission. Thanks!

  • Straight headers too... no cats. UBER LOUD!

  • This was the first startup after sitting for a while. The belts were squeaky too.
