5/10 - i found the movie to be too slow and the story line was all over the place. The special effects were brilliant, but I would say that being a New Zealander and it was our Weta Workshops that did the special effects for this film.

Maybe by it's self it seems good by see the first one before the new one. I nthe first no body died and it it was simple but in a good way. It made you think and intead of trying to stop a dooms day you see what the alien is seeing while he judges humanity. The first didn't have many effects but it was a great story. The new moive changed ALOT so it can have special effects (but they do look nice). Sad too see :(
Actors were good, plot was horrible. 'Aliens' came to Earth to save the Earth and then some random woman came to the alien's race leader and convinced him to stop it? Was boring. No fights, no nothing, I didn't feel it engaged with the audience, the movie felt empty, no adrenaline or anything.
The message to the audience is pretty clear though, I'll give them that. Humans need to change their attitude towards Earth etc but nah man, it was not a good movie, not what I was expecting.

It was a great movie if you are into saving mankind and know about the treads that make our planet be what it is today.. It has a great message, a message of two side in our nature. to fight and love.. one or the other will win in our time, aliens might not come to referee the whole thing but we will either destroy our own planet because we are selfish creature or we will fix it with the compassion we have for others.. who knows.?

It isnt the perfect movie but keanu actually fits the role perfectly, (because he didn't have to act) the special effects are great, and the story is pretty good.

I liked Wall- E, but that's because that was a very well- written movie. THe director has said he didn't set out to make Wall- E an environmental fable, it just happened as the story went along.
In contrast, TDTESS was always pushed as an environmental propaganda film (And a more blatant one than Wall- E, since at least Wall- E didn't advocate the extermination of the human race), which btw was a perversion of the original film, which was about the dangers of nuclear war.

Well, no. I thought the new Incredible Hulk was MUCH better than the original, for a few reasons:
1. Edward Norton is a much better actor than Eric Bana.
2. In the first Hulk movie, the Hulk didn't even appear very much.
3. Consequently, the original Hulk was padded out with a lot of immensely boring dialogue scenes, whereas the Indredible Hulk was not only action- packed, it also was able to fit in enough character development to stay interesting.
By far one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. Heath Ledgers performance as the joker was amazing and... sorry I took the money I was going to spend seeing this movie and bought the dark knight on dvd.
Awful movie, i was hoping i could fall asleep so it could be over a lot faster but i was wide awake. The only good thing about this movie was when BACH's music was playing, and Jennifer Conelly's beautiful face.

The original was more about how Klaatu started feeling human emotions and love, whereas the remake put minimal effort into connecting the well done scenes into proper context. The remake was less meaningful
I'd give it a 7/10. Why? Because I like sci-fi, alien-attack, apocalyptic thrillers, and this delivers all of that in a nicely wrapped (though admittedly sometimes a bit cliche) and shiny new package. I have never seen the original, so I have no reason to complain on that level.

Reeves was Reeves abd didnt even develop his own character, (miserable sod!) The message was superb but lost in a crap dialogue where humans seemed so so stupid. Was the Iron man figure GOD? If he was he had a very minor part. Then the film simply petered out, drained away, crept out the back door like a a modern day Bank C E O!

Kenau was as wooden as ever, and the premise that an advance civilization would destroy an entire race doesn't say much for the alien's moral values. As for the reviewers, where can I send them money so they can all hire a voice coach? Their delivery was horrid! Annunciate for gawd sakes!

when I went to the cinema we were going to watch the spirit but the guy who was serving us told us plenty of people had left. So we went to see the day the earth stayed still.
I think the film was ok, it seemed to skip bits though, I would'nt buy it on DVD but would watch it on tv if nothing else was on.

I think it was an okay movie. It just seemed like "something" was missing, and I did expect a little bit more action; maybe if it wasn't so stale and it flowed better. But I don't think it's attributable to one particular aspect or person. It gets an okay rating for me.

I give it a straight ten. I didn't see what other people seemed to see. I didn't see the "green hippie - save the earth' stuff AS much as I saw when I went to see WALL-E.
The message I conveyed from this story is that humans are selfish and wasteful. We want the world to revolve around us and we destroy things we don't understand or consider less superior. We don't want to consider there are things smarter than us.

I Saw it last night, I thought it was good, with a hint of reality. I think that the message tries to say that we live in a very special place. and in reality the people of earth don't know the origins of man kind. If we were given this place, and all we do is fight and pollute the one place that can sustain our way of living and life its self, us humans aught to be exterminated to allow other life forms to nourish.. but again we are a compassionate being. I hope we change. I rate it a 9.5

The black kid was very fucking annoying and pointless. I just wanted to reach into the screen and strangle him at times.
The whole macho GI goe american stereotype shoot first ask questions later was annoying.
The story was inspiring.
Special effects were neat.

It was a great movie if you are into saving mankind and know about the treads that make our planet be what it is today.. It has a great message, a message of two side in our nature. to fight and love.. one or the other will win in our time, aliens might not come to referee the whole thing but we will either destroy our own planet because we are selfish creature or we will fix it with the compassion we have for others.. who knows.?

Okay, I havn't seen the orignial movie, but I really liked the movie alot.. the acting was not amazing, but I liked. I especially like the way they critizised (maybe not even on purpose) the politics of the US, first you attack and then you talk, if you ever talk.
Besides that I like the idea of the aliens trying to save the world from us, 'cause that is exactly what the earth actually needs.. =)
So I would give it a 8 out of 10.

"Let There Be Bit Torrent" as I wish would be the official 11th commandment. Official or not, for good reason the eternal gift of torrent has saved me. Saved me from buying crappy DVD and Blu Rays like this film.
Now man may preview a flick before commitment. If its worthy I would run out and buy the Blu Ray or DVD to see over on different occasions. This movie has none

I personally loved this movie. I havent seen the original, although that's a good thing because most bad reviews seem to come from ppl who've seen the original.
Keanu was great, some ppl say he was stiff, but that perfectly fitted an alien being a human.
I don't get what some ppl have against special effects or CGI, special effects don't ruin the movie because they exist in it, they add to it, I couldnt stand watching a black and white movie or a guy in a rubber suite nowadays, its necessary.

I liked Wall- E, but that's because that was a very well- written movie. THe director has said he didn't set out to make Wall- E an environmental fable, it just happened as the story went along.
In contrast, TDTESS was always pushed as an environmental propaganda film (And a more blatant one than Wall- E, since at least Wall- E didn't advocate the extermination of the human race), which btw was a perversion of the original film, which was about the dangers of nuclear war.

Well, no. I thought the new Incredible Hulk was MUCH better than the original, for a few reasons:
1. Edward Norton is a much better actor than Eric Bana.
2. In the first Hulk movie, the Hulk didn't even appear very much.
3. Consequently, the original Hulk was padded out with a lot of immensely boring dialogue scenes, whereas the Indredible Hulk was not only action- packed, it also was able to fit in enough character development to stay interesting.

8/10. I like how they took the remake in a new direction, but they made it so it was unrecognizable. The original was more about how Klaatu started feeling human emotions and love, whereas the remake put minimal effort into connecting the well done scenes into proper context. The remake was less meaningful

I'd give it a 7/10. Why? Because I like sci-fi, alien-attack, apocalyptic thrillers, and this delivers all of that in a nicely wrapped (though admittedly sometimes a bit cliche) and shiny new package. I have never seen the original, so I have no reason to complain on that level.
