I had the very unusual opportunity to run into Julian before a show after he visited a mens room. What was amazing was I was with just Julian, his body guard and one other gentleman. No others! Got a chance to have a simple one on one chat. He was very gracious. What hurts me so much, is the fact that Yoko did leave Julian out of so much. As a life long Beatles fan it does pain me to admit, that yes they were just people too, who made mistakes. Leavig Julian was a huge mistake for John.

Sad situation. John Lennon once said that Julian was conceived out of a "bottle of booze consumed on a Saturday night." (Not the EXACT phrasing, but close!) He married Cynthia to give his child a name. I never had understood John's obsession with Yoko. He seemed to have tossed Julian aside. I don't take anything away from Sean, but it's as if since he was part of Yoko's DNA, he's the "real" son. Sorry, Julian got a raw deal, but he's dealing with it with class.

He is not ascerbic like John was at times - yet he is able to make it clear to the public that he respects John for his work and for what he was, but NOT necessarily as a father. I think it takes a lot of maturity, courage and sincerity to get past the fact that John was a lousy father to him, to acknowledge that he was a great artist, musician and a good person.
