Eliminton, I checked your You Tube channel. Interesting that you left so many comments on videos about gay things. Sounds like you have an issue related to homosexuality that you need to address. When you address your fears and insecurities, come back so we can dialogue.
I have lost my best friend, the only person that I felt really gave a crap about me to suicide because he just couldn't take the abuse anymore I have attempted suicide twice because of this issue.
People need to understand that we are human too and more importantly, There KIDS for fucks sake nobody should EVER have to go through the ostratsization that we homosexuals endure daliy especially not 14 year old kids who are just trying to feel normal
Studies seem to show that straight teenagers who are bullied about being gay suffer from some of the same problems gay and lesbian suffer from when they are bullied over their sexual orientation. This is a health and safety concern for all youth in schools.
We need federally-mandated mandatory tolerance classes starting in kindergarten and continuing through school. We need to de-brainwash US society starting with the kids. Even 1 of our precious gay kids committing suicide is too many, and the reich wing Christians have blood on their hands. Marriage must be legalized and a federal civil rights bill needs to be passed which grants all GLBT people the same rights granted in the 1964 Civil Rights Act. It's time to pull America out of the dark ages!
More mandates are the last thing we need. We need to DE-federalize the education system. It should be private. Your way of thinking is destroying our society.
If we have more private schools, that will allow parents to put their kids in virtually any type of "school" they want to, even including madrasas run by taliban adherents where they have the kids do nothing at all but memorize the Quran and bob their heads up and down in the silly way they do.
So in truth, my way of thinking is what we need to bring America's educational standards up to the rest of the world and stop producing Christohet Supremacist idiots who believe in creationism.
Very good point. Some private schools tend to promote exclusive views of society, and some of those schools tend to promote fear of other groups and hatred.
It is not the governments business to educate the populous, it is the parent's job to educate their children. The parents should get to decide where their child is educated, and what type of education the child receives. You stated that children should be taught to tolerate certain things. Parents should teach their children what and what not to tolerate. They should get to choose their child's education. Why should you get to say what their child should learn and not the parents?
Parents are not the only people who have influence on the development of children, nor should they be the only ones to influence children. It takes a village to raise a child.
Private schools are problematic. They can pick and choose students, and can implement policies that are not only considered by many professional educator's groups as being unethical. Private schools can be good, but they have also been full of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. There have been lawsuits against all of the denominations that ran schools for Indian children. The schools were noted for extreme abuse.
If a school is full of abuse, then the government can step in and do something. But let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. The federal government should not be in the educational system, period.
The government does not step in and stop the abuse. There are problems in public schools, and those problems have not seen the government step in and solve the problems.
Your idea of a "right to marriage" makes absolutely no sense at all. Civil marriage can not be a right. You're making a contradiction in terms. And, the idea that we need to use force to change society in to our own personal views is what is destroying society. Government should exist to protect the people's rights, never to forcibly mold society into what someone desires it to be. Freedom is the purpose of government, not utopia.
I agree. This sounds to me like a case of severe homophobia - in this case probably much more hate oriented than fear oriented. The cost of such a homophobic reaction concerns me.
My boy friend was picked on all through school up until he fought back. He had enough of people calling him "fagot." So he bashed a guy in the face with a book until the school's police officer pulled him off. Not saying that he was right for doing it, but worse things could have happened.
Sad to hear your boyfriend had that experience. :-(
I am very cynical. I strongly believe nobody cared when the poor skinny nerds, and a few gay kids took their lives due to constant bullying and abuse. When the kids brought guns into school and killed a few jocks, there was a sense something needed to be done. I do not advocate getting violent, but there are times when GLBT youth have to fight physically to protect themselves and to stop the constant abuse.
I fuckin hope it's harming those little shits. Queers are all pathetic.

Very good points. I agree. We need education, starting in the early grades in school, and same-sex marriage needs to be legalized.
