  • @bangthedj> it (850) is just like the 400, in USB stick mode you cant go full WIDE. try it with a CD and you should see option to go WIDE

  • the first 18 seconds looks like the start of a seedy porno

  • enunciation ?

  • the only thing i didnt like about the cdj-850 is that the case is plastic, i mean its just an aesthetics thing but i thought for $800 u would get a nice sturdy shell

  • @THCPiLLZ For that (Metal) only Numark NS7 and that is a great controler, if you want Metal Platter the DN-S3700 of Denon that are also great players/controlers made in Japan but is Plastic the rest but better that all Pioneers products.

  • @bangthedj Great video! thanks for sharing =]! btw what mixer is shown in the video?

  • @dboyvelocity that's actually a Numark iDJ2, an all in one device!

  • Yeah buy the Denon if you want cheap rubber start/cue buttons, a crap mini-display, usb for the sticks at the rear side, no acc und aiff support, no waveform for audio-cds and an ugly design.

I better stay with my CDJ-900s - and no, with 3.9kg it does NOT feel cheap!

  • how do they feel in weight? i heard the 850 is light as hell... so that means its all plastic? :)

  • @prie09 Yes is all plastic all pioneer CDJ's are pure plastic, are like empy boxes, if you want metal and better materials (plastics) buy Denon 3700 of Technics.

  • @xicot86: Don't spam with Denon players. I have two of them - Denons DN-HS5500 and it's a shame that this company did not fixed major bugs on firmware for this model. So I would never buy Denon again. Now I have Pioneer CDJ-2000 and I'm happy with it!

  • @DawidWarsaw I don't have that model but I teach dj's in a private school with pioneer 2000 DJM2000 and have a lot problems with firmware/recordbox, the USB port break so easy nothing compared with my 3700 that are quality players nothing of Error Codes or request for new firmware with Pulse in pioneer dj forums, the CDJ1000Mk3 also have better plastic/quality, IMO is better wait to the CDJ2000MK2 and avoid the error codes and cheap plastic

  • @xicot86: I own CDJ-2000 and CDJ-1000MK3 and I totally disagree, that CDJ-2000 is made from less good plastic, than CDJ-1000MK3. My opinion on CDJ-2000 is, that in this model Pioneer improved great amount of things, including details. CDJ-2000 is great and it's club standard. It keeps it's value during years. Denon players are not. I will NEVER buy Denon again, because I truly feel cheated by Denon. I would say, thats it's just posing for PRO, but they are not serious tool for PRO.

  • @DawidWarsaw Pioneer was the standar, but in a lot of raves/schools you see that they prefer using a pair of NI X1 or Akai APC40, Before the Denons I have the 1000Mk3 that like the 2000 don't have EFX, Filters... and as Midi controler the 3700 are much more powefull that things make that model more PRO. Pro is have more tools with quality.

MasterTempo in the 1000Mk3 allways work in the 2000 until the last firmware update was crap, the USB ports are also crap that can't be cheaper

  • anybody no a good starter dj set up just for fun?

  • @87apx Ive got 2 cdj 350s and a djm 350. been absoloutely perfect for me mate. Can plug my usbs and ipod classic in (iPod touch and iPhones dont work) can record your mixes. Been perfect mate!

  • @87apx cdj 200's + 2 channel mixer.. super cheap and u get the basics down ;)

  • OMG, I love the iDJ2!

  • waveform is handy as well

  • anyone want a pair of brand new unused cdj 850s for the lowest price? im selling them message me if you want it :)

  • @buzbee1991 ill give you 500 ;P

  • Damn i can't decide which to get...

  • Cam quality sucks, btw not all differences are mentioned...

    @MrBaby:

Of course, 900 is better than 850, or why do you think it costs 25% more?

Damn, use google and search the differences, dumbass!

  • Thats an IDJ2 mixer, isnt it?

  • 900 or 850???? whats better

  • the only reason id pick the 900 over the 850 is the waveform. crappy as it is, double drops are much easier to plan with waveform. that and i dont like silver :P

  • @BelgianJungleSound cdj 850 has the waveform :_D

  • @britishsmoke seriously, my minds made up then :P

  • @BelgianJungleSound was going to get 2 of these for 1000 but the guy backed out last minute, was VERY angry

  • Hi!!!

Quick question : do both platters feel the same / have the same tension and pitch bend exactly the same way? (I heard the 900's better...)

  • what is WIDE?

  • thanks for the comparrisons .very helpfull.

  • ez all, got a question for u all, i have a shite soundcard in my laptop and it wont record in decent quality as a reslut of this. ive read somewhere that the soundcard overrides the one in yer laptop in the cdj900 or something, so as soon as i hook up the 900 to my laptop will the recording quality all the saudden be better?? cheers

  • I like the waveform preview on 850 better, because you can go wherever you want, but you will see it.

  • shitty quality vid. isnt the cdj 850 actually the 800mk2?

  • @DjTadka no the 800mk2 is the 800mk2 the 850 is the 850.

  • I'm looking for some help into what cdj to buy. I want something that is good for scratching and beat jugging. I know everyone is going to say get vinyl but i just sold my technics 1200s before moving to thailand and were i live there is nooooo vinyl shops. Any help would be much apprecated.

  • @gda321 Denon DN-S3700

  • @gda321 cdjs are not good for scratching use a serato setup as you only need one vinyl it runs digital through the software

  • anyone know what is that mixer????

  • electro is for fags.

  • i had my eyes on the 900s for a while now and the djm 800 mixer i used alot of decks before but never owned decks my budget is about 4,000 so what would recomend???

  • @keepbangingbabay1 for quality id say there are 4 good pioneer setups in all price ranges:

    1. 350 full setup

    2. 400 full setup

    3. CDJ900 + DJM800

    4. 2000 full setup

  • BEARD!

  • great, good, awesome, love it. thanks a lot you made my choice a lot easier. thanks again !

  • Good video, but quality is really poor :/

  • I may be wrong here but doesn't the 850 lack the quantise feature (to be used with analysed tracks) of the 900? That would be a major difference to me!

  • @willm8uk

yeah that's correct. Also he didn't mention the Digital Out, which can't be found on the 850, too.

I' am goint to buy CDJ-900, they will become new club standart with the CDJ-2000. The 850 is still a good unit, though.

    But

  • the only way to get the Wide tempo is to use a wav cd, not mp3

  • btw read all the comments and be careful.. some retards double (tripple) posted.... so dont let those throw your desicion off :D ( mine doesnt count as a double post :DDD )

  • every ones gunna buy the nicer looking one so i dont really see the point for comparison... :/

  • This is the best video that compares the 850 to the 900!

  • hi good video im planning on buy a set of cdj 2000s and a set of cdj 900s rite but my problem is should i wait a year to buy the update versions like the mk 2 or mk 3 types to come out any one with any advice is more than welcome to reply thanks

  • The WIDE pitch won't work on the 850 because you're using a USB. The 900 is more advanced and the WIDE works on the USB.

  • ordered my 900s, video up soon :D

  • Is it me or the 900 is WAY faster to load a track from the USB drive compared to the 850?

  • CDJ 850 : 100% WIDE only works on cd's !!! not on mp3

     cheers for the video !!!

  • @borisdekloris ah so it does, just tried it. Works with MP3s on the 900 though.

  • @bangthedj Yeah, because the 900 has a more powerful DSP, allowing it to offer the WIDE feature on MP3s and also CDs :P

  • @jeansim true, but my cruddy old PC can handle the WIDE offered by other DJ softwares. This is a fairly high spec dedicated device.

Agreed with the track loading though. CDJ 850 feels nice though, reluctant to give it back :P

  • @bangthedj Thinking in investing in it for a practice setup. Would you recommend it over the 900, considering I already have Denon DN-S3700 that I'm going to sell???

    Thanks

  • @jeansim for a home set up the 850s are great, you don't need to worry about sharing libraries and the screen sizes so much etc. The 900 is a lot of fun too though it has to be said. All depends on the budget really. Either way you'll end up with a good set up!

  • @jeansim whats the wide option ? please respond :) :D !!!! i wanna knoowww

  • @SubscriberX100

    It offers a 100% pitch

  • @bangthedj or the cdj 800 mk2 ;)

  • @bangthedj Will wide work on wavs?
