Broken Key in Door

If it is broken further inside the lock a locksmith will have extraction tools to get it out for you. It rarely snaps right where you can get to it.

I just broke my key in my front door, The key was used every day since 1995.

What I had to do was use a sharp knife to pry it out far enough for the pliers, to grab onto the broken key, then it came out.
