I've had to do this before at 4 different jobs. At 1st they made us do it with a white rag and hot water. But that was so annoying running to the sink every 10 minutes. Then they had us do it like you all did it but what you don't realize is that you are stirring up even more dust and the next day when you come in it looks like you never touched them. So then we tried vacuum cleaners with the soft black bristle brushes. Worked great and faster. But you have to have an industrial drop cord..thick

Ya don't need safety harnesses with a scissor lift. I'm certified on all machines in a warehouse environment and only need license for rider jack, forklift, raymond reach truck and cherry picker.

@ImpatientWreck here in sask.we need to have a safety harness along with an aerial work platform ticket to even get into a scissor lift or a boom lift to operate or a passenger also we even get a ticket for fall arrest device(safety harness) but i think that is optional...shit we even gotta hook it up to the lift to even move it ..that or walk along side it with the control box

i know of these regulations because I work on a scissor lift/boom. and no matter the height in the air you are you have to have a safety harness and a carabeener attached to the "fencing" of the machine. i was just throwing it out there because it would not be good if a health safety guy happened to walk in and see that. In canads they do random checks anywhere they want.
