@wackojackocrazy r3 all the way... well, i would go for another option (roland gaia is a nice starting synth, pretty analog-like so it is easy to learn and to programm)... between those 3 korg options r3 is the most advanced one as well as having "real" keys. I own a microkorg and is a powerfull tool but its interface is a total pain in the ass and makes it REALLY diffitcul for programming and sound design...
@wackojackocrazy if you're lookin for a cheap suuuper awesome synth go for the microkorg, but if you just want something flat our amazing then go for the r3. i personally like the original microkorg better than the xl but that's your choice haha.
@wackojackocrazy I bought an XL the other day and I kept thinking I should have bought the normal one because it looks better but the XL is so much better! You can get all the normal one's sounds on it and edit on the synth too. It's got USB etc.. just a better synth really. As for the R3 I don't know but It's quite expensive. Go with the XL or R3
This is the Very Reason Why Delia Derbyshire expressed her dislike of the Keff Rendition. And I don't Blame her! She Spent Litterally Weeks Pionnering & Sculpting every sound for the Dr Who theme. The Bass sound to this day is a mystery! Everyone has their own opinion of how the bass was made. A Plucked Pin String, An Eleastic Band, A Piano String Wrapped round an Elongated Piece of Wood, etc. For Keff to shortcut like he did was an insult to her & to the art of Musique Concréte.
Glad you liked it :D The new tune may be a little hard as i cant hear the bass very well, i did the 7th doctor one as it has a clear bass line, cheers for the feedback.
nice one mate. You've caught the essence of the original dum-de-dum that underscored the themes for so many years. Now unfortunately it seems to have been lost and we're left with the percussion section from my old school band. It's the only thing about the 2010 series I don't like (although in Tennant's last series the rolling base line had also gone) pity eh? It's lost its eeriness I reckon.
@Ashleybradbury Just the main theme bass which is what i tried to do, but im currently working on Logic 8 to recreate it perfectly =] i well keep u updated
dude that is awesome!:D

@furyplum44 i like the way you fly off the handle at criticism calling someone stupid little twat. but can you do the melody line on you synth?
7timestree 1 year ago
@7timestree That wasn't critisism that was calling it fake!
And yes i can do the melody line, I'm just trying to create the white noise effect on the korg itself atm.
