White man and spent 5 weeks, with my 15 year old son, living in Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi [largest in Africa], and we did volunteer work in the roughest places, and never were unsafe. The people are wonderful and you will love it there. The weather is beautiful. There are beaches, islands, mountains, wildlife, and of course the people,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Makecha u sound u got one big problem. There are issues that even kenyans feel they are not right e.g. crime. But even tourists always talk about the hospitality of kenyans in general. Small things that kenyans do that people of other countries dont..e.g. like being friendly and helpful almost to everyone. Again u may need to be careful but still u cant help but notice such gestures. Even with the violence recently good kenyans(the marjority) came out and helped the less fortunate.

Yes but the fact of the matter is that unfortunately a lot of Kenyans are quite racist. Many are not. But many really are. Funny enough it's not necessarily the poor people so there really is no excuse for it either.
