  • Häagen Dazs, is not a german Company, is from Belgium.

German Ice Creme is Schöller or Langnese.

  • Fresh Italian "Gelateria" Ice Cream always wins. Greetings from Germany ;)

  • norway wins, because we have boat-is

  • Spaghetti- Eis was actually invented in my home town (Mannheim)! :P

  • es schmeckt mir gut xD

  • Wheres the video about Pizza?

  • I like how in your newer oppening songs, you have one of America's Sweet Hearts, a DCC. BACK TO BACK BABY!!! COWBOYS BACK TO BACK!!!!!

  • I always thought it was Napoleon too! But Neopolitan ice cream here is strawberry, vanilla and lemon instead of chocolate.

  • Vanilla Strawberry Chocolate is called Fürst Pückler. Alex fails for not bringing it up.

  • Gotta say, Ben & Jerry's is the best ice cream there is! Shame a tub of it costs 7 € here which is about 10 dollars. :/

  • @tranquilnightmares it costs 5.49€ were I live. Still to expensive fore me.

  • @richie2101 It's so annoying. Poor Americans don't have Milka though!

  • Gave me a taste for ice cream, but all I got are some chocolate Japanese mochi-ice cream balls. Oh well, good enough.

  • DAMMIT. NOW I WANT SOME ICE CREAM !

  • Im testing out now the american Ben & Jerry's - Strawberry Cheesecake icecream, and it isnt bad, its different from norwegian møvenpick as im used to. I havent tested german icecream, first i will have to find one here, cant wait :)

  • Häagen dazs was founded by a polish couple in america

  • I love these guys :)

  • @FatherFalcone3 me too!! :)

  • whoa...ben & jerry's is the BEST you can buy and wat in my opinion! here in germany it is very expensive but the flavors and sorts are awesome! (ice cream + cookie dough = WIN!)

  • Did he say Chocolate Mint cookies, or Chocolate Milk cookies, or Chocolate Chip Cookies. (I've never heard of the second)

  • i'm eating a root beer float and i'm in germany :D

  • I love American Ice Cream...but its so expensive!

  • I say napoleon like him I thought I was right until this video lol

  • wtf is mayfield? we have blue bell in texas

  • kitty in icecream tub = WIN

    X-D

  • Representing the South with good ol' Mayfield. Best Neapolitan ever. Love it!

  • I always and shall always call it "Napoleon" after the Great General lol

  • In Germany it is a bit stereotypical but in positive way because italians invented ice cream.

  • I thought it was Napoleon too!

  • Alex behaves so german in the end XD

  • Cat-size Icecream in Germany

  • good show guys nice greeting from Reken, NRW, Gremany

  • I always thought it was "Napoleon" as well when I was a kid. I guess I was just so excited about the ice cream (and the birthday party it came with), that it took me until my young adult years to realize it was Neapolitan

  • i miss tab, can't get that anymore in america :(

  • Häagen-Dazs was created in America by Polish immigrants, cool!

  • Dude. I thought it was "Napoleon" until i watched this video.

  • I love ben & jerrys

  • ROFL Mayfield Ice Cream.

    I want one :S

And Ben & Jerry of course!

  • omnomnom kitty icecream :D

  • I always said napoleon!

  • Germany vs. USA?and the winner is........ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Everybody loves Ice Cream.

  • the best ice cream i ever eat was "Biereis" (beer ice cream) in germany

  • The ice cream in the big containers tends to be kind of generic ice cream, like store brand. I don't think I've ever seen a name brand ice cream with containers like that.

  • Häagen Dazs is bad atleast the chocolate and the strawberry. It contains very little ice cream and is very expensive.

  • Häagen Dasz looks more like a lower German dialect than Danish. Neither the "äa" or "sz" diphthongs even exist in the Danish language. It would probably be spelled Hægen Dass in Danish.

  • Hey guys, nice show!!

(Is there an episode about money btw? Coz as far as I know coins are much rarer in the US; their wallets don't even have coin cases mostly; whilst German wallets are said to be pretty big and fat because of containing so many coins...5 EUR equal 7 USD, which is in Europe the smallest bill, instead of the 1-USD-bill...)

  • I found also some HäagenDazs-Icecream when i was in Japan.

And they sell kinds according to the local taste:

    green tea

    sweet potatoe pie

and some other. That was really amazing to me.

By the way one of my coulleges, beeing from Saxonia, told me that soft ice remembers him to his childhood. In the former GDR there were only very less numbers of "Konditorei" that offered normal ice cream. So they offered more soft ice because of the cheaper production.

  • vanille, schoko, erdbeere heißt Fürst Pückler

er hat das nich erfunden , das war einer seiner hofkonditoren, er gab seinen namen

  • Schmeckt mir guuut

  • Häagen-Dazs sucks! No matter if you choose Chocolate or Strawberry it tastes awful!

  • You left out Ben & Jerry`s .

  • @ambera15 no, they talked about it at first

  • i'm kind of shocked about häagen dasz...

i really thought it was danish ^^

  • Cherry Garcia, Phish Food, and half baked are my face.

  • @frdrcksncn i mean fave**. lol totally made a fool of myself.

  • I'm from California and in the summer of 2008, I went to Germany and got the spaghetti ice cream. IT IS SO GOOD! I love it and I wish we had it here. I also loved the sugar cake, or zucker kuchen. I ate a whole one by myself. My stepdad's mom is from Germany and makes the sugar cakes for me sometimes! :)

  • @Airca18 well make buiseness ;P

  • am samstag ist meinen Geburtstag

  • @gowhitesox12 wer will das wissen du kind Oo ?

  • @Phantomdarkness3000 eh, fick dich

  • @gowhitesox12 was eh fick dich ? internet gangster oder was ? idiot lern dich zu atikulieren du kind

  • I think it's only in America that you have those HUGE ice cream . Because in Portugal and in Spain you only get them as the same size as in Germany... and i think it's like that all over Europe.

    Btw: you're awesome guys ;)

  • Yuck i hate ice cream!

  • I thought it was called Napoleon ice cream too haha.

  • i work at a haagen dazs store myself haha. i get anything i want 50% and sometimes free. the alcoholic ice creams we have are pretty good. we have Baileys irish cream and Rum raisin. my favorite is strawberry cheesecake.

  • 2:21 "America!" = merritt out ?!?!

  • You are not alone Jim.. I also thought that stuff was Napoleon ice cream until i was 10, and i still don't care what it's called because to me it's always gonna be Napoleon ice cream. Kindheit

  • The Red ice cream Alex is having is awesome. Expensive but good as hell.

  • Eis ist mir am besten gefallen!

  • schmeckt mir sehr gut :D

i love these guys. very funny and very informative videos.

  • i love my spaghetti eis can't wait to have it again when im in germany.

  • You can get Ben&Jerrys at Subway in Germany.. but I think it's just the cookie dough thing..

  • i tried some ben jerrys a while ago and it was something with bananas....gosh my mouth died that day

  • awe ben & Jerrys is on of the best

  • i'm from germany and i probably never saw an non italian eisdiele ;)

  • i looooooooove ben & jerry's

but in our town you could just get it at Smiley's (pizza) i think :(

  • I thought it was made in France?!?

  • I used to call Neopolitan ice cream "Napoleon" too. I don't know why but I always did.

  • @Wolverineeeeeeee Yeah there must be something to that. I used to do the same.

Plus, in one of the Bill and Ted's movies they bring Napoleon back from the past and he chooses to eat a 'napoleon ice cream sundae' and it was the same as neapolitan.

  • I LOVE Häagen Dazs!!

  • lol. i cant believe you guys didnt show BlueBell icecream. :P

yes, i am craving some ice cream :)

  • also es gibt schon größere größen an eis in deutschland... so 2l ca.

    zB 2l vanille usw

great vid ;) ben&jerrys ist der hammer :)

  • What is that?

  • Haha the alcohol and ice cream thing is true, but strangely enough my friend's family is converting their ice cream parlor into a bar...but it'll still serve ice cream, and the best part is that it's planned to all be done about a week before my 21st birthday!

  • No, we don't o.o we almost eat only "normal" ice cream

  • Wenn zu Kindergeburtstagen Eis serviert wurde dann gabs eben für jeden keine 3 Liter^^ sondern 2-3 Kugeln.

  • Funny video. My favorite part is when Alex is sipping TAB cola and taking bites of Haagen Daz ice cream at the same time... Sehr gut?? The 4.5 liter ice cream is so popular at kids parties because it's cheap to buy. The taste nicht sehr gut. :-)

  • I want ice cream right now!!!! XD

  • boah mir wird schlecht :O

  • Häagen Dazs gibts hier auch! Ist nur arsch teuer...

Ich hab wegen euch jetzt richtig lust auf eis.

    =)

  • You CAN get bigger sizes of ice-cream in Germany, but usually the maximum is 3000ml

  • the kitten is so sweet! ♥

how dare you uploading this ice cream video when it's so cold today? I wanna eat ice cream!

  • what we do for a birthday party???

A lot of beer, vodka, jägermeister, beer, puschkin, bacardi, beer etc.

    ;)

  • Blue Bell butter pecan ice cream......

  • I love Blue Bell Ice Cream, but Living in Central PA now and they dont have it here and it cost too much to order online. Consider yourself Lucky!

  • I am lucky...but it is because I am living in Germany now... I miss Blue Bell ice cream also.

  • The best flavors

    Häagen-Dazs Bailey's Irish Cream

Ben & Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Chunk, Dublin Mudslide, and Willie Nelson's Peach Cobbler

  • Gelato is NOT ice cream. the creamier one that is sold in a gelateria (oder Eiscafé) is gelato.

  • I'm interested in differences between Germany and USA, but maybe you could do some cultural or political difference videos instead of so many food ones.

  • Not the worst idea!

  • Thank heaven I got Ice cream on the way home today :)

  • The video player was giving me problems so I didn't get to the end but I just heard about the Häagen-Dazs reality a few months ago too. Found out on a PBS ice cream documentary. The ice cream is great in both countries but Germany has Kinder ice cream woo hoo!

I would like to see a comparison of yogurt. I saw some flavors in Germany that were really unigue and would never be on a shelf in north America.

  • why didn't you mention Baskin Robbins???

  • the italians invented ice

  • its off that america doesnt have like ice cream restaurants, i'm sure they do though, cuz here in the caribbean we got a some haagen dazs restaurants and its really nice :D

  • When I was a kid I always thought it was Napoleon too. I didn't notice it was neopolitan until I was a teenager.

  • watching that video made me missing COLD STONE and German Chocolate Cake! Sooo good with the hot brownie and caramel and and...i want coldstone in germany ^^

  • The German Chocolate Cake is not even German. I think they had a video about this topic. Reupload it ;)

  • @AndreR241 i know ^^ but it still taste good...the inventors last name was german, thats how the cake got its name ^^ but still great flavour...go to the store and ask why its called german chocolate cake...funny when they start to explain and u tell them the truth afterwards ^^

  • If I'll be in the U.S. eventually, I'll try one ;).

  • @AndreR241 the guy who invented it , last name is "German"

  • Does Jim actually speaks german too?

  • Haha, the cat is cute!!!

  • omg kinda 4 minutes and the XXL bucket is half empty...hihi schmeckt mir gut!

    The videos are soooooooooo awesome

  • We have an Eis Cafe down the street from us and I don't miss american ice cream one bit. The first time I ordered I wasn't expecting real alcohol in it. The second time I couldn't believe my kiwi ice cream had REAL kiwi in it. I think its cool they let me bring my dog in and they serve him water in a fancy bowl, lol. Our Eis Cafe is run by Germans, but its a very tiny little town so thats probably why. I love everything about Germany except the Mexican food. Leave that to the Texans I say.

  • you are right about Mexican food in Germany! We have a Mexican Restuarant here in Ravesburg that is fairly popular....and the food does not even remind me of Mexican food. Mi Hacienda in Starkville/Columbus is the best

  • This show always makes me miss Germany so much!!! It helps me remember the experiences I had. Vielen Dank!

  • Oh, ich liebe ice coffee!

  • Peace, love & Ice Cream :D

  • Häagen-Dazs is avaible in Germany for many years already... and they also said in the "let your tongue travel"-campaign how it is properly pronounced... and it clearly is not Danish or Skandinavian for no Skandinavian language has the combinations "äa" and "sz"...

  • That made me want Icecream...t.T

  • lol, i have oero-icecream :]

  • i love how when i went to reply to this were all the way at the bottom. =]

hmm im picking up some frozen yoghurt today! =]]]

  • what häagendazs is american =O

  • I love Ben & Jerrys but its so expensive in Germany...

  • 5:32 = Ansbach
