@kplord Because the original Arcade ending cut off when Reiko entered the portal. The CG endings were added to the PSX version and they felt something more should be added to Reiko's ending since the original ending was supposed to be an inside joke and of course no one but the devs got it.

@vplof As I said in response to someone else, the N64 ending is the same as the Arcade ending. It's the original ending and was meant to be a inside joke that only the devs got. When the CG endings were added to the PSX version they decided something else should be added to Reiko's.
