This is such a beautiful Romeo and Juliet - and it is so faithful to the play. The scene where Juliet imagines what the tomb will be like when she's about to take the sleeping poition - fantastic.
Please, i need this video. Complete video. I love this ballet. You can help me? Send news for antonio.casalecchi@terra.com.br. Thank's some much. Marco.
Hi Marco, this is a bad quality TV recording (the entire ballet was taking up to 2GB if I recall. I don't have it on my hard disk anymore. this piece was extracted from the original and compressed). Still you should be able to find the DVD on the market. Just google "Prokofiev-Bessmertnova-Mukhamedov-Sharkov-Zhuraitis".
Why on earth did Grigorovitch change the choreography from Lavrovsky? I personally prefer the Lavrovsky. Still, that does not detract from the beautiful dancing, I wish there had been more eye-contact.
He's working hard there - he's a passionate performer.
But I've always believed her to have been overrated - she doesn't even make eye contact with him when they perform - the number one rule in pas de deux! And doubly so in Romeo and Juliet!
I AM AGREE !its wonderfull!

I saw this ballet as a child in the 1990s, and it made me cry every single time, because it was so beautiful.

MUKHADMEDOV WHAT A MAN. He fell in love with every partner, totally masculine, what a line, what a presence. sigh.

Midnight blue (menace?) meets virginal white!
Love the adolescent spriteliness at 4.40.
Why exactly did Grigorovitch change (and in what detail) the choreography of Leonid Lavrovsky ?
