not to be that guy, but the double bass is pretty easy after only a few weeks of practice. Maybe not for everyone, but if you get on and practice every other day for a few hours, you could get that speed easily. When I began drumming, I made the mistake of jumping ahead and getting a double pedal, but within a year or so of little practice, I could do the same speed. Don't worship a pedal. Worship everything that comes with the player. What about the tremolo picking the guitarists do?
