thanks for postin man these guys have balls the size of coconuts to do that i have total respect for carrier pilot like no other bringem home safe gang all the best ret air force mycyver over and out
@with33 you are half right. The catapult, controlled remotely, launches the aircraft but it's up to the pilot and his skill to land that sucker on a 700 foot moving runway
@mattybab15 no i wasnt after this i went and found out a computer lands and takes all aircraft off now adays so thanks for the wrong missleading info youtube know it all...
@with33 The Super Hornets do have an automated landing system, but Navy regulations don't permit their use. The pilot is more trustworthy than a computer and must land by hand.
Well it's funny how i'm going to do that in a hvile.
I've just been flying for a short time, and we practice this on land, by strapping a few cables over a normal runway. and if something goes wrong, well it isn't a splash...
@IknowJohnLear Its a C. The UFC (up-front control) is not digital screen so thats a dead give away. C's fly about 10kts faster in the approach configuration.
And I thought my performance landings were rough
mxhonda2 1 week ago
Solution for planes. If the workers dont want you to go around, it's simple: Extend the length of the carrier and put twice the amount of wires

how much do you shit your pants if you miss the hook ?
freedomsoldier187 10 months ago
@freedomsoldier187 That's why when they land, they put the throttle to full in case the hook misses the cable.

And F29 Retaliator (Ocean) for the Atari ST.

psh jet guys have it easy they have so many things to help them. Helo pilots have no special cameras to monitor glide slope or the meatball.

Thrust is switched to full as soon as he touches down, so that he can take back off if the wire dont stop him.
He also has to be ready to eject should he not be able to either stop or get airborne again.
