Lauren, so what if you have been turned down by them. I know how that feels and then u may want to question yourself. Don't go down that path. You have very talented and do some great looks. Some are a little too bright for me, but so what. I still love those videos and you are a makeup artist and would do a lot of different looks. People should realize that. Just constructive criticism but her makeup is very teenagey, it doesnt look classy. A lot of it looks cheap and chalky. She may not hold qualifications either. Why would Mac take her on when there are people out there that have worked hard and paid a lot of money to get a diploma. There's too many people on youtube that call themselves makeup artists because they can put a bit on makeup on and want a free ticket. Doesnt work like that I'm afraid.
@shellpink1 I'm pretty sure she has qualification- if you look at her other videos she goes through her makeup kits and stuff- that she mentions she got from MAKEUP SCHOOL! if that's not qualification enough (as well as her obvious talent) then maybe you shouldn't watch her videos.plus..the outrageous makeup she does is to show what she can do..this video obviously shows that she is capable of doing natural and toned down makeup also. And that wasnt very constructive critism. It was pure bitchy

I also went to school,paid 1000s. that means NOTHING. MAC wants sales people. I am not a sales woman , I am freelance mua. my clients are proof of that. there are a lot of ppl on here thinking vids make them a MUA, but maybe before talking specifically about someone, do some research.

I have had my make up done by MAC, it was so horrible that I went home took it off and did it myself, I did a much better job and I'm no pro. I cant speak for all of them but the one I went to sucked so bad that I have made up my mind and decided to not go back unless that person has a portfolio that I can look at. Personally you are much better.
I totally agree with Posh! I have personally seen MAC turn down excellent and experienced Makeup Artists only to hire non-experienced girls just cause they are friends or know someone. So sad! Half the girls behind the counters have no clue how to blend or create looks. Plus... they don't pay that great either.

your work is great, but that lipgloss is way too light and too pink for you (I alway try to pick one that is based on the dominant colour in my skin tone)... the eyes do look really good on you.
ur probably being turned down d/t simple supply and demand; how often does one of their current MUA leave? probably not often so they're not in need of MUA so you just have to wait for the right timing ~ it's all about timing cause you OBVIOUSLY have the talent! :D

well I think mac are truly missing out. I don't kow why people think working for mac is like the greatest job on earth though anyways. At the end of the day it's just a retail job, and if you're in makeup you get to be more creative freelance I bet.
Working at MAC is just another retail job anyway, so I don't see why people act like it's the greatest thing in the world. At least doing your own freelance work allows to be your own boss, and you don't have to bother with petty sales goals.
I have to agree with this 100%. At the end of the day it's just retail, and all they want is for you to sell products. That's why I left, myself. They aren't all that interested in the talent, so you can't perform to your best potential. You'd be too good for that day-to-day routine. Keep doing what you do :]

It's not just that you're an artist, it's that you can do so many different looks that is impressive. What really knocked my socks off is that you can enhance a woman's natural beauty without making her look painted. IMO that's the hardest thing to do. Best of continued success!

Girl, get yourself a store of your own and put MAC out of business. You are way too talented for the likes of MAC and you put some of their artists to shame. Create your own make-up agency and have others working for you. Go on the road doing celebrity makeup and get PAID!

Beautiful...you have prob hear this a gazillion times. But, you are SO talented. Just know that MAC isnt the end all be all of makeup. When another high end company discovers you. They'll be kicking themselves. And, If I were you I would be all too happy to supply them with a steel toed BOOT :). Also, that last song (I think its ONE MORE NIGHT) who sings that? Omg I cannot believe MAC turned you down considering they have so many makeup artists that suck so horribly (at least in the MAC stores I've been to) that I could even do a better job of it myself. well I think mac are truly missing out. I don't kow why people think working for mac is like the greatest job on earth though anyways. At the end of the day it's just a retail job, and if you're in makeup you get to be more creative freelance I bet.

Working at MAC is just another retail job anyway, so I don't see why people act like it's the greatest thing in the world. At least doing your own freelance work allows to be your own boss, and you don't have to bother with petty sales goals.

I have to agree with this 100%. At the end of the day it's just retail, and all they want is for you to sell products. That's why I left, myself. They aren't all that interested in the talent, so you can't perform to your best potential. You'd be too good for that day-to-day routine. Keep doing what you do :]
