I have to agree... she was already a great singer and performer at such a young age. I give kudos to David Foster for plucking her from her native Canada and introducing her to the worldwide audience.  On a personal note, she was really slim even at that age. Lucky her!

Check sony BMG records check the official number of albums she has sold globally check how many tickets she has sold from all her concerts since the begging of her carer. I'll think your find that it is more then mariah Carey. Mariah has had more us number ones then any other american artist and has stayed at number one the longest i think.

However over all celine is the biggest selling female artists mariah is not. Despite she seems to think she is more and more now days. Check the facts.

nice try with your trick about celine starting in 82 when that was mostly in the quebec market. most of her album sales come from her english stuff after 1990. she may have some of the best selling french albums but they are pocket change compared to how much her english albums sold. by certifications celine beats mariah. certifications mean more than random fan utterances.

mariah's #1 hits record is only in the US, mariah is nothing outside of the US and japan. celine is 10x bigger ine urope
