wow, Very beautiful mare and foal. My horse is due soon, next month. Its my first time watching a horse birth besides on tv or something lol. so im studying. lol Good video
i think that if people are there when a mare is foaling that its a good idea to help guide the baby out and maybe help pull a bit when she is pushing because if the mare doesn't mind than why not its only easier on her. I have had foals and mares die out in the field so from then on in i always help if i catch it in time or at least watch and make sure everything is going okay, you guys did good beautiful mare and foal
We appreciate the concerns of our viewers. To clarify: This mare had been in labor pushing over a half hour prior to filming. After a half hour of active pushing, we hit record and went out there with cell phone in hand. The vet instructed us what to watch for as this colt was huge. His shoulders got stuck in the birth canal. That is why the mare was rocking and showing pain. We were only guiding the foal out.
Great job. Your right that babe is huge! People that don't have knowledge of Thoroughbreds, have no idea, how different their world is. I foaled for a ranch for a bit, and those mares are like us, they need help too. Love the video!
Tarzahn the colt is now 6 mos old, big and strong. He will be destined for racing, he is fast, and will make his owners proud. Look for him on the track in a few years! Watch out Triple Crown here comes your winner!
Geisha and her baby are doing wonderful. He is a month old now and growing like a weed! Very healthy and spunky, watch for him on the track in a couple years!!!
