The only thing that alters you is the alcohol and the herbs in it, the only side effects being a clarity that wasnt common with a normal alcohol buzz.

@WhiteGold310 As I also stated before it was the cheap stuff which cannot really be considered absinthe at all because absinthe is made in a certain way, and if you would actually research thujone it actually occurs in some foods, is not cause hallucinations and would probably kill you before it did. Any hallucinations caused while drinking absinthe is not from the drink but something added to it. It was banned because well people got drunk off it and people were stupid.

It can also be found in Oregano, Sage, and Tansy, so why dont you go smoke those and see if hallucinate.
