Lowering taxes and lowering interest rates will start the consumption again and more people will have more money to spend wich will benefit everybody. It is like a body that is cold. Only way to get warm again is to start moving again.
On 28 Oct 2008, the Icelandic government raised interest rates to 18%, a move which was forced in part by the terms of acquiring a loan from the IMF. When trading on the Icelandic króna finally resumed on the open market, with valuation at around 250 ISK per Euro, less than one-third the value of the 1:70 exchange rate during most of 2008, and a significant drop from the 1:150 exchange ratio of the week before.
On 1/26 /2009, the coalition government collapsed due to the public dissent.
HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?? Who and how did the crooks get to be in charge of everything?? I cannot believe this!! All should see this and try to understand.

I´m from Iceland and we are trying to take all these loans is to defend our gay shit currency, Icelandic krona. If we don´t manage to defend it, we could end up losing this money, then standing up with no money left from the loans but all the debts that follow. The government and central bank have been utterly incompetent when it comes to monetary and economic policies so these efforts will probably fail. If EU would support us picking up the Euro we would be fine and not need any loans.

Af hverju Noreg. Ísland er ný búið að fá sjálfstæði frá dönum, ég held að eina í stöðunni sé að beygja sig og grátbyðja dani um að taka við íslandi á ný. Sé ekki alveg hvernig Noregur kemur þessu máli beint við. Ísland getur greinilega ekki séð fyrir sér og mér finnst það skinsamlegast.
I agree about the debt I dont know Uk has used terror laws against mabye they are in debt with us they can thank god we are only 300 000 otherwise we would rooll all over them
Time to come back to the motherland, Norway has money in plenty, iceland is a good reason to use them. We have 1900billions to spere, what is icelands debt?

Fólk reyndi að vara ykkur við - en var á þá hlusta? Nei - enda ekkert sem heitir lýðræði á Íslandi.

Iceland walked straigt into the trap and most of the public here are oblivious to the true nature and purpose of the IMF.
