Experience enough pain, and your sense of it dulls, you can take more and more before you need to retreat (I should know, I've ground my knuckles to the bone on a fan without flinching).

Mokou doesn't have to worry about survival, being immortal, and she's had some 1500 years of experience with pain.

Actually, regarding the link, I think it might have worked at one time or another, but ever since the implementation of the rate selection in the video, the option to view things in HD/HQ through the URL have become obsolete. If you are viewing it at 240p I do think that watching through a HQ URL will raise it to the maximum rate that the video allows, the same thing that happens when you manually select the highest rate from the video itself.

That being said, I have never beaten a Touhou game (partially because of my vehement refusal to ever use continues)

And that's understandable, almost every Touhou player feels incomplete beating a game unless they 1cc it (Me included, I only used continues my first few playthroughs). I'm sure you'll be able to beat one soon though, it took me well over a month or two to beat EoSD, but now I've beaten all the way through MoF now that I'm used to it.

I've been cracking at EoSD for almost a year now I can still barely make it to Stage 6 (starting with the default amount of lives, that is. If I start with 5 I can get to Remilia's 2nd spell or so but my score is made of fail.)

@YtseJam214 Oh, that'd explain a lot. When I first beat EoSD, I had maximum lives. That helped a lot.

When I got to Mountain of Faith and realized that it would always be set at 3 lives from now on however, I kind of felt like starting at maximum was cheating, heh. So I went back to 6-8 and beat them with default.

And congrats on your IN win~ I know I felt awesome when I first beat a Touhou game

Yuugi doesn't really have a horn. It's a party hat that got stuck there after partying for so long and refuses to come off, so she just went with it. Suika's horns could possibly be drinking horns as well.

@anemaul That's just how awesome she is though. Despite being just as rowdy and drunk as Suika, she manages to keep enough poise in battle to never spill a drop. That's what the poster was trying to get at when he accidentally created the NOT EVEN DROP meme; you can't always tell how strong a character really is just from what stage they're boss of.

(Patchy falls under this too. She's pretty darned powerful and hugely versatile, it's just that her spells keep fizzling due to her illness.)

in 13, Yuyuko is the first stage, in 7, alice returns as a stage 3 boss, when she was extra stage prviously. in Consealed the Conclusion, Flan is the stage on boss on route A

@kiraina25 Also, you generally can't judge power by stage since past a certain point (Usually Stage 3 or 4, but in the case of SA, Stage 2), everyone is enough of a nightmare that it doesn't make much of a difference.
