  • Hi eyvonne2006....this guy is singing to a track. pay close attention to the video.

  • AMAZING HOW WHEN THE LEADER DECIDES TO QUIT THE GROUP A REPLACEMENT SOUNDS SOUND SO MUCH LIKE THE ORIGINAL ONE .GOES TO SHOW NO ONE PERSON CAN STOP THE SHOW

  • What year was this video made? Anyone?

  • I love the soul stirrers cause my grandmother told me I'm related to one of them

  • Sing!!!

  • Mr Huffman has the most beautiful voice...enjoy hearing him.

  • Love this! No one sings like this anymore, this is real music, and the stuff that they make today is mostly crossover music, which can be played in night clubs ECT..., but when you listen to this you know that they are talking about the Lord!

  • WHY COULDN'T THAT GUY AT THE END JUST WAIT UNTIL THEY FINISHED GOD DAMMIT.

  • Beautiful voice and song..

  • GOD PLEASE PLEASE REMEMBER ME

  • Deep down in the soul singing. Soul to Soul that's the only way you can reach the people. This kind of singing almost does not exist anymore.

  • @unclemighty1 AMEN!!!!

  • Great !!!

  • great song greay voice

  • Whewww, the strength in that mans voice! POWER!

  • i dont think hes tryna sound like sam cook now i think he learned a few things from sam cook but the things he learned he took it and ran with it all the way

  • Phenomenal!

  • Favourite for sure. Oh yes

  • I find it kinda silly/unfair to compare artists of different time frames....because someone can find an artists form their times(which could be 1920-30's) and say Soul Stirrers who?!..it depends on what time you grew up in..let's just appreciate God's music as a whole.

  • I remember singing this onboard the USS Midway with my Brothers in 88-90. Great Songs of praise!

  • Matea (Material)! I love to hear country folk speak and sing. LOL!! cute....

  • my uncle's had a gospel group, one of my uncle we call me p.o., he sang this song the same way and style eddie huffman did. I was a baby when they use to sing this song, it bring back remember

  • MY DADDY IS STILL SINGING THIS SONG TODAY EVEN THOUGH HIS VOICE DOESN'T SOUND AS GOOD AS HE USED TO BUT HE STILL SINGS WITH AN UPLIFTING VOICE!!!

  • See the SOUL STIRRERS on DVD!

Google: JUBILEE SHOWCASE DVD to order today!

  • there is a group in mobile name the mobile soul stirrers can really sing this song

  • It brings me JOY to know that my Father can deliver and He will remember me and all of us.

  • This is soul

  • My mother play this song so much I knew I to play it on the guitar with very little practice.. I love it

  • These was the Times

  • Thank God for Youtube and for all of you that post music like this. It's the only place you can find it anymore.

  • Sir the reason that so many singers try to sound like sam cook is because to date there is none greater to emulate, the man was a gifted genuise and true heavenly song bird like the world had never seen, started his own record company immeditately crossed over which is maybe why he was taken as many millions were. But God is able and though a man be dead Jesus said yet will he live again and if any man believe in me and lives he shall neve die.word to the mother ship.

  • I love this more voice than noise its a revolution of old that needs to come back we dont all want to yell ours lungs out when we sing gospel, always ending in a loud , loud long songs battle this is great and its more touching is what the gospel should be.

  • Comment removed

  • Is it just me or do every lead singer tries to sound like Sam Cooke

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • Calvin Henderson drummer of the World Famous Soul Stirrers I would love getting on the stage because I knew we had to sang this song I loved it James Davis and James Hardy would nail this every night, I miss those old days and I miss playing with them. We were the best from 1984-1986 Soul Stirrer 4 Life..

  • The voice, the timing, the simplicity. Raw genius!

  • @mrs allen58

  • great song thank you, excuse my lack of knowledge but could someone tell me if Eddie Huffman & Teddy Huffam with the Gems are related. I have an old album "Souled Out" by them & it is fabulous.

  • Its SO VERY hard now to find a radio station that's devoted only to great, traditional, gospel music such as this. The majority plays contemperary and insperational gospel music. Although all of it is wonderful, I relate better to traditional.

  • @beunka2 Sinners Crossroads Wfmu has a weekly gospel show and podcast where you can hear alot of this stuff. Check it out. The guy who does it knows his stuff and plays great stuff.

  • @BadboybillyC Thank you!!

  • @beunka2 wfmu.org/playlists/CR

  • Good Stuff

  • This is the foundation of so much music!! I'm not religious person by far, but you have to know where the soul of things come from. These guys were masters of a sound. I now live in the Ukraine with my partner and It's so much fun exposing her to

this. She thinks it's very interesting how so much music is lacking these days.

What's even more interesting is how she can now pick-up music with good story telling and great structure. To Sam, Eddie, Bobby and all of the Soul Stirrers,

    Thk you.

  • Sing the song brother!!

  • Love this video me. Eddie singing sounds very good like sam cooke. When my brother and I sing some old school gospel and he came do eddies version good.

  • Here I am 70 years old and just discovered these guys thanks to a friend of mine. I really love and appreciate this wonderful music. Thanks Soul Stirrers the "Fathers of much music to follow".

  • Gapeal05! I'm glad your dad and uncle shared this beautiful music with the world. I was infleunced by it growing up and pledge to keep it going so generations behind me will remember it. Nothing gets a church going like the music they sang. They are the best! Hope some of their talent spread to you so you can carry on their tradition.

  • eddie huffman is huffman is my granpa

  • I LOVE these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • just in case you thought i did'nt know...u better ask Jesus!

  • This gentleman sounds just like Sam Cooke, I shared this video with others. I really enjoyed listening to this.

  • How much are these tapes or dvd?

  • These gentlemen are GREAT!!! Real sweet sound! hallelujah!!!

  • @itsallgood1507 AMEN!

  • never will be anything like this again in my life time

  • This dude sounds just like Sam Cooke.

  • @jive5willie no Sam Cooke sounds like him they are the original

  • This is my first time hearing this song with eddie. He sounds realy good, but there's something about the way sam says "Ragin'" that gives me chills. Love this song though. Im looking for the lyrics.

  • I know you wanna sell albums but talking over this song is like blasphemy!

Please just advertise the album with writing and let the man SING! Or do the talking after the song!

    PLEASE!

    SINCERELY!

  • FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! Somebody post this up without that nitwits sales man voice over at the end!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Halleluyah!!!!!

  • thank you ella mae and cora lee. lord please remember the both of them and lord please remember me. my grandmothers for life.thank you lord.

  • thank you

  • I love it and i want him to remember and i pray that my good out ways my bad.....

  • fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they used to play this on sunda'ys on 93.7 wblk buffalo, new york baby.

  • Wish I would have learned about the Soul Stirrers sooner. I'm so thankful for learning about them in my History of Rock and Roll course.

  • @jsmitty227 Lol . Ditto . I kept myself limited to only one type of gospel music , & discovering more and more music in my classes are eye - opening & takes me out of my comfort zone . Praise God .

  • I love the soul stirrers. I remember when they came to birminham, alabama every year for the golden hummungbirds anniversary every year. I miss Dillard because he was kind to everybody and always had a smile on his face RIP Bro. Dillard and Rufus.

  • just love this song.........

  • Man,them boys 'Blowin'!!!! This is real singing. You hear more vocals than music,awesome....

  • Sam Cooke is the greatest singer in gospel , soul and r&b . Even after Sam started soul music , he still produced gospel music . Who u think sang backup on most Sam records ? The Soul Stirrers !

  • I didn't know Sam Cooke sang gospel music. Why do so many go back and forth to sang in the world and gospel? Man wish I could sing, but the LORD still likes when I sing to HIM. Even if it is off key lol

  • @smashher Bobby Bird was Gospel!

He got Brown out of jail, to be lead singer!

Then he said, He saw a R&B group's "CHECK"

They changed over and never looked back!

  • @jor99912 Wow you will be amazed when I say this. I was driving and was thinking about learning to make music for gospel purposes. Started to think if someone from the R&B/Hip-Hop genre wanted me to make a song for them. All I heard them say was I will give you a million dollars for it. Then the Holy Ghost said you are worth more to me than a million dollars. Don't sell yourself short. God is so good

  • @smashher (Two Million?)

  • @jor99912 LOL maybe

  • Sam Cooke is the king of gospel and r&b . Gospel is about the love of god . R&B is the love of god people . You can't love god and not love his people. Blessings

  • @jahdanielion Never heard anybody say that before. Can you explain that love of god people to mean.

  • yeah thats my song, come on now, sang it, yes sir, good GOD from zion

  • whiteycooper: sam directly imitated brother harris....from the falsetto yodels to the tics and other inflections. eddie's version is as much an homage to r. h. harris as it is to sam. i can listen to all of them all day.

  • Yeah, they lead singer vocally resembles Sam Cooke.........they both have the raspy, rough vocal quality.

  • take me back to my youth

  • Both Eddie and Sam were gifted in their own way, but on this, I prefer Huffman version--so much more than Sam's. Eddie's voice is powerful and stirring. More importantly the lyrics of Eddie's versions--this one and the new "reunited"--are more scriptually accurate than Sam's which mean so much more to me...check it out.

  • I would have to agree with you on that!!! You really feel this version.

  • I respect your opinion but it's a direct imitation of Sam Cooke's tone and style. I'll admit it is a great imitation. Huffman is great regardless....

  • He sounds kinda like Sam, but Sam is more soulful.

  • @gospelx2 true dattt!!

  • Man, I love Eddie just as much as Sam! These guys are the best!

  • Amen!!!
